In the late night city, it's like a sleeping giant, with streetlights sparsely casting dim shadows. In this dim background, a low-key inn is like a peaceful harbor, providing a temporary refuge for Ye Che and Su Mingxi.
Ye Che sits on the edge of the bed, gazing deeply at the night sky outside. The room is quiet, with only their breathing and the ticking of the clock. His demeanor remains cold and focused, but he occasionally looks at Su Mingxi on the bed, revealing his inner concern.
Su Mingxi lay on the bed, her complexion had improved a lot. She tried to sit up, but her weakness made her lie down again. Her eyes looked at the ceiling, as if thinking about something.
Suddenly, there was a sound of footsteps outside the room. Ye Che suddenly stood up, his eyes instantly became sharp. He quickly walked to the door, pressing his ear against the wooden door, listening to the movement outside.
Su Mingxi saw Ye Che's actions and also realized the approaching danger. She nervously asked, "Ye Che, what's happening outside?"
Ye Che turned to look at her, his expression still calm, but a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. "Someone has come, doesn't seem like an ordinary guest."
Su Mingxi sat up and tried to get out of bed, but Ye Che stopped her: "You stay here, I'll go take a look." His tone was firm and unquestionable.
Ye Che opened the door gently and walked out of the room. There was no one in the corridor. His steps were slow and cautious, each one seeming extremely careful. His eyes scanned every corner of the corridor, searching for possible hidden enemies.
Suddenly, a dark figure appeared from the corner of the ceiling and pounced towards Ye Che. Ye Che reacted quickly, stepping back and drawing the long sword from his waist. A cold light flashed as he cut the dark figure in half.
Subsequently, more dark figures emerged from all directions, and Ye Che engaged in a fierce battle with these attackers like a lone cheetah in the darkness. His long sword danced like the wind, each swing accompanied by a sharp frost. The frost spread in the corridor, making the entire space bone-chillingly cold.
The battle intensified, and every attack from Ye Che was filled with strength and speed. However, the black-clothed men seemed unusually powerful, and their abilities and combat skills put unprecedented pressure on Ye Che. The sounds of battle in the corridor alarmed the entire inn, but no one dared to come out to investigate.
Hearing the sounds of battle outside, Su Mingxi felt anxious. She knew she couldn't just sit and wait for her fate. Despite not having fully recovered, she forced herself to get up and decided to go help Ye Che. She picked up a small knife from the bedside and quietly opened the door.
The corridor outside has turned into a battlefield, with Ye Che surrounded by several men in black. Their unique abilities complement each other, posing a great threat to Ye Che. Despite his astonishing combat skills, he appears overwhelmed by such formidable opponents.
Seeing this, Su Mingxi's heart tightens as she knows she must do something. Quietly, she approaches the battlefield, searching for the right opportunity. The man in black screams in agony and falls to the ground, allowing Ye Che to take advantage and defeat the other men in black one by one.
After the battle, Ye Che showed no joy on his face. His brows were furrowed, clearly feeling puzzled and angry about the sudden attack. He turned around and saw Su Mingxi standing there weakly, calmly expressing disapproval, "Why did you come out? Your body hasn't fully recovered."
Su Mingxi bit her lip and said firmly, "I can't let you face danger alone."
Ye Che looked at her, with a hint of complex emotions in his eyes. He walked over and helped her back to the room. Inside the room, they looked at each other, their eyes filled with unspoken understanding.
Suddenly, footsteps were heard outside the room. Ye Che quickly stood up, alertly looking towards the door. The danger was not over yet. Ye Che took Su Mingxi's hand and quietly led her to a small compartment in the room to hide.
In that narrow and dimly lit compartment, Ye Che and Su Mingxi were pressed tightly against each other, as if they could feel each other's heartbeat with every breath. The sounds of footsteps from outside gradually faded away, but Ye Che's vigilance remained unrelaxed. His gaze sharply focused on the concealed exit, ready to respond to any potential danger at any moment.
Observing Ye Che's consistently calm face, Su Mingxi's eyes shimmered with complex emotions. She understood that at this critical moment, her alchemy physique would be of immeasurable help to Ye Che. Taking a deep breath, a determined expression flashed across her face, and then she gently cupped Ye Che's face, taking the initiative to kiss his lips.

Suddenly, the door of the room was violently kicked open, and the enemies had found their hiding place. Ye Che immediately reacted, pushing Su Mingxi away and hiding her behind him, using his own body as a shield. There were still traces of moisture at the corners of his mouth, appearing decadent and ambiguous, but his eyes were flashing with a cold light. His abilities seemed to have been greatly enhanced with Su Mingxi's help, making him more confident in the upcoming battle.
During the outbreak of the battle, Ye Che seemed to be in a world of his own. His long blade danced in the air, each swing bringing a bone-chilling frost, with ice crystals swirling in the air, forming a frost whirlwind that froze the approaching enemies one by one. Each of his strikes was filled with unparalleled destructive power, and the enemies fell one after another under his formidable attacks, unable to resist his mighty assault.
After the battle, Ye Che stood there, his chest heaving heavily. He turned his head and looked at Su Mingxi with profound eyes. Su Mingxi leaned against the wall, a faint smile on her face, filled with pride, knowing how important her presence was to Ye Che.
This experience has made Su Mingxi even more convinced that she is not a burden to Ye Che, but the source of his strength. Her voice was gentle yet firm: "Silly goose, I will always be by your side, no matter what difficulties we encounter, I will help you."
Ye Che looked at her, his eyes revealing an indescribable emotion, and a gentle smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, a tenderness he rarely showed: "Su Mingxi, with you by my side, I feel an unprecedented strength." His voice was deep and hoarse.
From now on, Ye Che and Su Mingxi will be indispensable to each other. Their destinies are closely linked as they walk together towards an unknown path.
The room once again returned to tranquility, but this tranquility carried a heavy atmosphere. Ye Che had some small cuts and bruises on his body, with blood beads faintly visible on his skin. Su Mingxi stood up from the bedside and walked towards him, her eyes filled with concern.
She found a first aid kit in the corner of the room and carefully examined its contents. Taking out disinfectant and gauze, she walked quietly to Ye Che's side and began to tend to his wounds.
Ye Che's eyes flickered slightly, but he did not flinch, allowing Su Mingxi to bandage him. Her movements were both gentle and delicate, clearly very considerate of his feelings.
During the bandaging process, Su Mingxi suddenly joked, "Dull goose, your kissing technique is too rusty." Her tone carried a hint of teasing, but her eyes revealed tenderness.
