Eric and Alice stood in the light of the ancient altar, feeling the mysterious power of "Secret of Moonlight" surging within them. As the light gradually faded, the two of them seemed to be transported to another world, where the air around them became clear and transparent, and even time seemed to stand still in that moment.
"Did we... really receive the power of our ancestors?" Alice's voice trembled, her eyes shining with an unprecedented light.
Eric tightly held his hands, feeling the strong power within him. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his excitement: "Yes, Alice, we have received the blessing of our ancestors."
However, just as they were immersed in this joy, a strange chill suddenly rose from the bottom of their hearts. Eric furrowed his brow, feeling an indescribable unease spreading in his heart.
"Eric, what's wrong with you?" Alice noticed his abnormality and asked with concern.
Eric shook his head, trying to dispel the chill: "It's nothing, just... just feels a bit off."
At that moment, the space around them suddenly twisted, and a powerful force pulled them into a dark vortex. They struggled to resist, but the force was so strong that it was suffocating.
When Eric and Alice opened their eyes again, they found themselves in a strange place. Around them was a desolate wasteland, and the air was heavy with the smell of death.
"Where are we?" Alice asked in fear.
Eric looked around, trying to find clues: "It looks like some ancient city ruins, but... the atmosphere here makes me feel very uneasy."
Just then, they heard a faint crying. The sound was filled with sadness and despair, as if it was coming from the depths of hell. Eric and Alice exchanged a glance and decided to follow the sound.
They made their way through the ruins and arrived at the center of the devastation. There, they saw a heartbreaking scene - a young woman was kneeling in front of a pile of rubble, her eyes filled with tears, holding tightly to a lifeless baby.
"This is..." Alice's voice trembled, she couldn't believe her eyes.
Eric was also shocked, he approached the woman, trying to comfort her: "Ma'am, what... what's wrong with you?"
The woman raised her head and looked at them with hollow eyes: "Who are you? Why are you here?"
Eric and Alice locked eyes and decided to tell her the truth: "We are vampires from House Dracula. We are searching for a power to save our family."
The woman, upon hearing this, showed a hint of surprise in her eyes: "Vampires? House Dracula? I... I used to be a vampire too."
Eric and Alice were even more shocked: "You... you used to be a vampire? How is that possible?"
The woman slowly stood up, her eyes filled with pain and memories. "My name is Lena. I used to be a regular vampire. I met a man who told me there was a way for vampires to live in the sunlight like humans. I... I gave up my vampire identity for him and accepted that method."
"And then?" Eric asked nervously.
A tear glistened in Lena's eyes. "And then... I became what you see now. My husband and child lost their lives because of that method. And I... I became a monster, neither human nor vampire."
Eric and Alice were filled with sorrow and anger after hearing it. They never expected that the much-anticipated "Rebirth of Blood" would bring such tragic consequences for their people.
"Ms. Lena," Eric took a deep breath, "we have been searching for a way to balance the power of 'Rebirth of Blood' with the nature of vampires. We have been blessed by our ancestors, but we cannot guarantee that this method can completely avoid such tragedies."
After hearing this, Lena's eyes flashed with a glimmer of hope. "Really? Can you really find that balance point?"
Eric nodded, "We will do our best. But we need your help. Tell us more about that method."
Lena nodded and began to tell them the details and consequences of that method. Her voice was filled with regret and pain, but her eyes sparkled with determination.
Eric and Alice listened to Lena's account, feeling heavy-hearted. They knew that the task was much more difficult than they had imagined. But they also understood that they could not give up, because they carried the hope and future of the entire family.
With Lena's help, Eric and Alice began to delve deeper into the power of "Rebirth of Blood." They tried to find a way to balance this power with the nature of vampirism, in order to prevent tragedies like Lena's from happening again.
