The last sentence about the bracelet left me feeling like a startled bird all day.
After the live streaming ended, I hurriedly logged off, my heart pounding like a drum.
What did he mean by that?
Could it be that he really knows my true identity?
I anxiously ran my fingers through my hair, feeling a tangled mess.
Just as I was about to wash my face to calm down, I heard the notification sound from YY.
Chen Dahao invited me to join his private voice channel.
I hesitated for a moment but ultimately clicked "Accept."
I wanted to see what he was up to.
"Hello?" I tentatively spoke up.
"Tong Tong Zi, you did well today," Chen Dahao's voice carried a hint of amusement. "It seems you enjoyed the collaboration."
I immediately retorted, "Who enjoyed it? I just didn't want to lose."
"You're being contradictory," he chuckled softly. "You clearly had a great time."
I was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure how to respond.
"Seriously, your gaming skills are impressive; you're quite the hidden talent," he continued. "You're not as bad as you seem on the surface."
"You're the real trickster here," I couldn't help but fire back. "Putting on one act while doing another behind the scenes."
He suddenly fell silent for a moment, then his tone turned serious. "Why do you pretend to be a novice when you clearly have skill?"
My heart skipped a beat.
He really noticed.
I bit my lip, unsure of how to respond.
Should I tell him about my past experience of being bullied online for being too good?
"Everyone has their own secrets," he said, his tone suddenly becoming gentle. "You don't have to force yourself to share."
I was taken aback; I didn't expect him to say that.
"What about you? Do you have any secrets?" I asked tentatively.
He chuckled softly, "All my secrets are in Live Streaming."
His ambiguous answer only piqued my curiosity further.
We talked about a lot of things, from games to life, from dreams and aspirations to insights about existence.
I realized that he was actually a deep person, not as frivolous and cynical as he appeared on the surface.
I began to change my perception of him; he was actually quite interesting.
"You’re special," he suddenly said as we neared the end of our conversation. "Different from other female streamers."
My heart raced, and my cheeks flushed slightly.
What did he mean by that?
"I... I’m going to sleep," I stammered, hastily finding an excuse before hanging up the call.
Lying in bed, I couldn't fall asleep no matter how hard I tried.
Chen Dahao's words echoed in my mind.
Was he really just flirting with me?
Still...
I turned over restlessly, my mind a tangled mess.
I told myself it was just an illusion; Chen Dahao was merely playing a game.
I couldn't take it seriously.
But the way he looked at me, the tone of his voice, made me feel as if he truly... cared for me.
I sat up abruptly, my heart pounding like a drum.
Could it be... that I had developed feelings for him?
"Impossible!" I whispered, trying to convince myself.
Yet, I couldn't deny that I felt an undeniable attraction to Chen Dahao.
This feeling excited me, yet terrified me at the same time.
Just then, my phone suddenly buzzed.
It was a message from Chen Dahao.
"Still awake?"
My heart sank.
How did he know?
