One day, Wu Yunyun woke up late, having slept through the morning until noon. She grabbed her phone from the bed and saw the time displayed on the screen, her expression akin to being struck by lightning.
After turning off the silent mode, she checked the WeChat messages from Gu Si Yi and felt a wave of dread wash over her. She quickly typed a reply: "I'm sorry, I didn't set an alarm and woke up late."
Once she sent the message, she hurriedly got dressed, rushed through her morning routine in the bathroom, grabbed her English textbook, and dashed into the living room. However, there was no sign of Gu Si Yi.
Wu Yunyun took out her phone and tried to call Gu Si Yi, but he didn’t answer. He must think that she had deliberately woken up late to avoid his class. She asked those around her, but they all said they hadn’t seen Gu Si Yi.
Approaching the desk where she was supposed to have class, she noticed her English textbook lying there, meticulously annotated. Her heart sank at that moment.
Nervously, Wu Yunyun waited for the evening when Gu Si Yi returned home wearing a helmet. She rushed to him and said, "Young Master, you’re back."
Gu Si Yi looked at her and noticed she was only wearing a thin velvet jacket. "Why aren’t you waiting inside? You might disturb others."
Wu Yunyun anxiously explained, "I really didn’t mean to wake up late this morning." Although she couldn’t quite explain why she had slept in until ten on the third day of her break.
Gu Si Yi frowned; he was indeed upset. However, seeing her standing there looking pitiful while apologizing made his anger dissipate significantly. "Alright, I’ll give you another chance."
Wu Yunyun cautiously observed Gu Si Yi's expression and felt relieved when she realized he had finally forgiven her. Her small reaction did not go unnoticed by him; he stepped closer and gently patted her head. "Get some rest early tonight, my girlfriend."
"Okay," Wu Yunyun replied and quickly turned to head back to her room.
Gu Si Yi watched her retreating figure for a long time. Only after she disappeared from sight did he allow a smile to return to his lips.
Before going to bed that night, Wu Yunyun set three alarms to prevent oversleeping again.
She woke up early and even took a shower.
At eight forty, Wu Yunyun arrived at the table, waiting for Gu Si Yi.
By eight fifty-five, Gu Si Yi showed up. He wore a white short-sleeved shirt and gray shorts, an outfit that reminded her of him playing basketball on the court.
In a group of players, he stood out distinctly with his fair skin, long neck, and a charming Adam's apple, as if he had stepped out of a comic book.
Noticing him approach, Wu Yunyun quickly averted her gaze and opened her English textbook to start reviewing.
Gu Si Yi sat next to her, and she caught a whiff of his scent—a refreshing mint fragrance—while her heart raced in her chest.
"Let's start with vocabulary," Gu Si Yi said as he flipped to the back of the textbook and began explaining the words they needed. With each word he pronounced, he provided examples from everyday life to help her understand.
His authentic British accent, combined with his magnetic tone, flowed into Wu Yunyun's ears, causing her to grip her pen tightly.
Only up close did she realize that his eyelashes were much longer than she had imagined. His smooth jawline, perfectly tight skin, and sensual lips captivated her thoughts as she wondered how wonderful it would be to take a bite.
