One day, Wu Yunyun had a high fever. Wu's Mother called a doctor and helped Wu Yunyun take a leave of absence. The doctor hooked Wu Yunyun up to an IV, saying she might have caught a chill, and that the infusion would help her recover. Wu's Mother let out a sigh of relief as she looked at her daughter lying in bed, her face pale and waxy. Wu Yunyun's face resembled that of Wu Xingguo, and as Wu's Mother's emotions grew increasingly complex, she quickly left the room.
Wu Yunyun had a dream in which she repeatedly questioned Gu Si Yi, asking him why he had played with her feelings. Gu Si Yi merely looked at her with his cold, indifferent gaze and responded icily, "Who told you to be so foolish?" She wanted to say more, but he didn't give her the chance and simply turned away.
Wu Yunyun jolted awake from her dream, realizing it was just that—a dream. In truth, she did want to confront Gu Si Yi, but she lacked the courage. Perhaps it was her deep-seated obsession that led her to dream of him. In a way, this could be seen as an indirect response from him. From now on, whatever happened between them would be treated as just a dream.
Inspired by the umbrella incident, Han Hanyue became more attentive towards Gu Si Yi. She gradually reined in her temper; no matter how Gu Si Yi treated her, she always looked at him with a smile. Gu Si Yi seemed oblivious to her efforts, but his friends noticed and felt intrigued. To be honest, Han Hanyue had an incredibly beautiful face, and when she suppressed her little temper, it easily stirred protective instincts in the boys.
During class breaks, Sun Xian encouraged Gu Si Yi: "Han Hanyue has been behaving quite well lately. Don't you want to reconcile with her?"
"She really is quite flirtatious," He Luan remarked while squeezing an eraser in his hand. "But I have to admit, she's my type."
Lu Xiaoqi nodded in agreement but added cautiously, "She does have quite a charm. However, she's still Gu Si Yi's ex-girlfriend; we should probably hold back."
"You already have a girlfriend; do you think your girlfriend would be okay with you flirting with someone else?" He Luan retorted.
"Her? Whatever," Lu Xiaoqi said nonchalantly as he thought of Tian Mei. "It's just for fun."
Gu Si Yi interjected, addressing his friends: "You all should manage your own affairs; if you end up with too many romantic entanglements, don't expect me to clean up after you."
With that, he left them behind as they exchanged puzzled glances at one another.
Sun Xian was the first to react. He slapped his thigh and exclaimed, "Damn it, I knew he never let go of Han Hanyue!"
His voice was a bit loud, drawing the attention of Han Hanyue, who was slumped over her desk.
Seeing Gu Si Yi leave, she immediately followed him out.
In the hallway, Han Hanyue called out to Gu Si Yi, "Gu Si Yi, can you give me another chance? Let's start over, okay?"
She looked at him boldly, completely unfazed by the crowd around them.
Gu Si Yi shot her a cold glance. "Have I ever told you that we’re done?"
"Han Hanyue, don’t make me slap you in front of everyone!"
Han Hanyue smirked, maintaining an air of disdain, but deep down she knew she wanted to tear him apart.
For days, she had played the submissive role but still received no attention from him. She felt like she was going crazy because of him.
At some point, He Luan stood behind her and watched as the crowd dispersed.
Han Hanyue frowned and turned to him. "What’s it to you?"
"Don’t you know? Gu Si Yi's heart is made of stone. If you can’t have him, why not try with me?"
