Wu Yunyun was careful not to disturb her mother as she moved along the secluded path downstairs. At the end of the road, there was a circular door that led into a courtyard. It was still freezing in Teikyo, and after nearly half an hour, Wu Yunyun finally felt her body warming up.
Before long, she heard some commotion from the courtyard, followed by raised voices. One of the voices she recognized belonged to Gu Si Yi, though it sounded more mature than she remembered. Wu Yunyun slowly shifted her position and found a hiding spot beneath a tree trunk. From this angle, she could only see his back; he was wearing a long, dark down jacket and stood tall. She began to mentally sketch his face, but all she could manage was a vague impression.
He must look even better than before, she thought. The other man arguing with Gu Si Yi was Gu Yang, whom she had met a few times. Unlike Gu Si Yi, Gu Yang bore no resemblance to him at all. Gu Si Yi seemed reluctant to engage in a lengthy discussion; he only exchanged a few terse words before walking away, his steps indicating agitation.
Wu Yunyun's gaze remained fixed on him until he was out of sight, at which point she snapped back to reality. Her hands were already cold as ice, and she couldn't help but chuckle at herself; it was only when watching his back that she felt bold enough to be so open.
The next day, Wu Yunyun visited Yu Chan's house, bringing along snacks from Yun Cheng. Yu Chan was thrilled and immediately tore open a bag of beef jerky, stuffing some into her mouth. She turned to Wu Yunyun and asked, "What do you think about me becoming a star?"
Wu Yunyun looked her over; in terms of appearance, she passed the test and had plenty of energy—she could give it a try. "Really? You truly think so?" Yu Chan exclaimed excitedly as she grabbed Wu Yunyun's hand. Ever since she decided to pursue acting, everyone around her had dismissed her dreams as fanciful.
They all believed that it would be enough for her to lead a simple life, but Yu Chan wanted more than that; she didn't want to be confined by others' expectations. She continued talking about various topics related to the entertainment industry as if she could go on for an hour.
However, one person made her angry—Han Hanyue. During summer vacation, Han Hanyue had taken on a short drama and guess what? She became popular! Now she's considered a third or fourth-tier actress. It's unbelievable how someone with her personality could be so lucky; life really isn't fair!
And do you know? She's already given up on Gu Si Yi and is now with He Luan. But He Luan has such an odd look about him; he doesn't even seem human! As they discussed Gu Si Yi, Wu Yunyun couldn't help but ask how Han Hanyue could just give him up like that.
Yu Chan was momentarily taken aback by the question, taking a while to realize that she was asking about Gu Si Yi. No, she had already mentioned He Luan; why was she still thinking about Gu Si Yi?
After a pause, Yu Chan set aside the beef jerky and looked at Wu Yunyun with a serious expression. "You don't still like him, do you?"
Wu Yunyun knew she couldn't hide it any longer and nodded slightly.
"Honestly, Wu Yunyun, you’re being too stubborn. There are so many men in this world; why do you have to hang on to just one?"
Yu Chan couldn't explain it clearly. If only she could control her own feelings...
"It's okay, Wu Yunyun. Time will wash everything away," Yu Chan could only offer her this comfort.
Wu Yunyun nodded vigorously. If only that were true...
