Upon returning home, Gu Si Yi recounted the events to Wu Yunyun. After finishing, he took the initiative to apologize, saying, "Wu Yunyun, I'm sorry. I never intended to treat Sun Aunty that way."
Wu Yunyun feigned anger, "You have some nerve, Gu Si Yi!"
"Dear, I was wrong," he replied, moving closer to her, wanting to embrace her.
"What do you mean by 'dear'?" Wu Yunyun was completely taken aback that those words had slipped so easily from his lips.
Gu Si Yi's fair complexion flushed red as he stammered, "Dear."
After saying this, he cautiously glanced at Wu Yunyun, observing her reaction.
Wu Yunyun smiled and wrapped her arms around Gu Si Yi's neck, planting a kiss on his nape. "Good job!"
Gu Si Yi was left bewildered. "What do you mean 'good job'?" Was she referring to how he treated Sun Aunty or the fact that he called her 'dear'?
Seeing the confusion on his face, Wu Yunyun clarified, "You did well on both counts!"
"Gu Si Yi," she continued, "I've never had the courage to stand up to my mom. I've always considered her hardships and often neglected my own feelings. As a result, she has come to believe she can control me. I've been too weak to say anything serious to her, even when her actions have hurt me."
"From now on, I'll help you be the bad guy. If you ever feel uncomfortable, I'll stand up for you," Gu Si Yi said, pressing his forehead against hers. "Now say it again—'dear.'"
"Dear," Wu Yunyun replied sweetly and obediently.
"Mm." Gu Si Yi tightened his hold around Wu Yunyun's slender waist. He truly wished they could get their marriage certificate right now; then they would be a legitimate couple.
Wu Yunyun peeked out from Gu Si Yi's embrace and suggested, "Let's take some photos! You know, those beautiful ones that look great on camera."
She wanted to capture as many lovely moments as possible while she was still young so that when she got older, she could boast to the younger generation about how she once looked so youthful!
"Alright, we'll go tomorrow," Gu Si Yi said as he kissed her forehead.
He also wanted many beautiful photos with her. These would become their shared memories.
Following Wu Yunyun's request, Gu Si Yi chose a highly-rated photography studio.
After the two of them left, the front desk attendant took out samples for them to choose from. In the end, Wu Yunyun selected Lolita, Film Style, and Forest Style. Gu Si Yi went along with her every choice, even though by the end, his face was starting to feel stiff from smiling.
As Wu Yunyun posed, she observed the staff around her. She noticed that the women serving them were particularly enthusiastic; occasionally, when they made eye contact with Gu Si Yi, they would blush. Seeing this made Wu Yunyun's smile widen even more. It felt quite rewarding to have such a handsome man by her side.
After finishing the shoot, it was already afternoon. Wu Yunyun was exhausted, and Gu Si Yi parked the car in the underground garage and opened the passenger door for her.
"Please step out, my lady," he said kindly, placing his hand on the roof of the car.
Wu Yunyun smiled as she got out. Leaning against him, she complained playfully, "I can't walk anymore; you have to carry me."
"Alright, I’ll carry you," Gu Si Yi replied as he bent down.
Wu Yunyun wrapped her arms around his neck. "I’m coming up now."
"Okay." Gu Si Yi securely lifted her onto his back and walked steadily forward. "Let’s go!"
"Yay!" Wu Yunyun cheered, extending her arms in delight.
Gu Si Yi quickened his pace, feeling that Wu Yunyun was truly happy at that moment. He felt happy too.
