Gu Si Yi drove Wu Yunyun home. Their residence was located in a prime area of Dijing City, where every inch of land was worth its weight in gold. Gu Si Yi had just purchased a duplex villa.
Upon arrival, Wu Yunyun was utterly astonished. "Gu Si Yi, you really know how to make money, don't you?"
Seeing her expression of surprise, Gu Si Yi couldn't help but lean in and kiss her gently. "From now on, I will always be by your side."
Wu Yunyun was at a loss for words, overwhelmed by the moment. She tightly grasped his hand and said, "Gu Si Yi, thank you."
"No, thank you," he replied.
Wu Yunyun stood obediently, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Gu Si Yi etched this moment into his memory; he thought to himself that he would never let her down.
As they entered the house, Wu Yunyun was once again taken aback. The entire room was filled with an array of fresh flowers, and she felt as if she might faint from the beauty of it all.
"Gu Si Yi, hold me steady," she said as she leaned against him.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Is it the flowers?" Gu Si Yi asked anxiously, ready to pull her away.
"No," Wu Yunyun grasped his wrist firmly. "I'm just so happy right now that I don't know how to describe it. I've never seen anything like this before."
For a brief moment, she felt as if she were observing herself from a distance. Was this truly happiness? Was this really her?
Gu Si Yi relaxed upon hearing her words. "I thought you were allergic to pollen."
"I'm not; it's just that poverty has limited my imagination," she replied with a smile.
"What a silly girl," Gu Si Yi teased gently as he playfully tapped her nose. "If you want flowers, I'll learn how to grow them so our backyard is filled with blooms."
Wu Yunyun hugged him tightly. "But I have nothing."
Gu Si Yi chuckled at her naivety. Because of her, he felt truly alive again, no longer like a walking corpse.
"Then can I make one request?" Wu Yunyun looked up at him from his embrace. "Tell me what it is; I would go through fire and water for you."
"I want you to tell me you love me every day, kiss me every day, and hold me every day."
Wu Yunyun smiled and said, "Is it really that simple?"
"It's not simple, Wu Yunyun. I hope that no matter what happens in the future, we will never give up on each other. I want us to be together for a lifetime."
"Wu Yunyun, I can't bear the thought of being apart from you again."
During those years studying abroad, the longing became especially intense. There was a time when he even relied on medication to cope. Every time he felt that way, he would dial that familiar number, imagining chatting with her. Without her, he didn't know how long he could hold on.
Wu Yunyun choked back tears and nodded in his embrace. "Gu Si Yi, you're the silliest person in the world."
"I promise you, we will never be apart."
Gu Si Yi held her tightly. When they reached the bedroom, she noticed that the bed was adorned in bright red with rose petals scattered across it. The room was decorated in shades of red as well.
Wu Yunyun lay on the bed and rolled around several times, feeling so comfortable!
Gu Si Yi lifted her up and held her close, kissing her lips.
Wu Yunyun wrapped her arms around his neck.
As the atmosphere grew more intimate, a rumbling sound came from Wu Yunyun's stomach. She looked down shyly and said, "Um, I'm hungry."
"Then let's eat first," Gu Si Yi replied as he took her hand and led her downstairs.
As soon as they reached the bottom of the stairs, he rushed into the kitchen while Wu Yunyun followed behind, watching his back. In that moment, happiness felt tangible.
