Upon learning that Gu Si Yi was together with Wu Yunyun, the most displeased person was Sun Xian. On New Year's Eve, they had planned to play cards together. Sun Xian had previously discussed with Lu Xiaoqi and He Luan about seriously dampening Wu Yunyun's spirits. He frequently brought up his own tragic experiences abroad, and He Luan, being soft-hearted, agreed to his plan. As for Lu Xiaoqi, he remained silent with a smile.
They chose a resort where they could enjoy hot springs. Wu Yunyun was somewhat sensitive to the cold, and Gu Si Yi wanted her to take care of herself. To confront them, Sun Xian even selected a female companion who was quite strong-willed. This person was the proud little princess of their circle, Hu Feifei, who excelled at teasing others. Before heading out, he had informed her to keep it moderate.

Sun Xian downed an entire bottle of liquor in one go to suppress his frustration. When Wu Yunyun returned, Lu Xiaoqi took out two golden cards from his pocket and handed them over. "Sister-in-law," he continued, "my brother isn't very quick-witted; I hope you'll take good care of him in the future." Wu Yunyun had heard of Starry Luxury International Hotel; it was the highest-rated hotel in Dijing City, and the presidential suite cost at least five figures per day. To her surprise, it turned out to be a property of the Lu family.
She glanced at Gu Si Yi.
Gu Si Yi nodded at her.
This card was of no use to him, as he already had one.
However, he understood Lu Xiaoqi's intention and entrusted it to Wu Yunyun.
But that fool didn’t get it.
The other two looked at Lu Xiaoqi's actions in confusion, thinking to themselves: "Old friend."
"You two, remember to make up for the gift later." Gu Si Yi didn’t even look at the other two as he peeled shrimp for Wu Yunyun.
They exchanged glances and swallowed their words.
Halfway through the meal, He Luan received a phone call and stepped outside.
Sun Xian remarked, "Looks like He Luan is keeping a tight rein on his family."
Gu Si Yi was aware of the situation between He Luan and Han Hanyue, but he usually preferred not to get involved.
Today, he came with Lu Xiaoqi, who was a student, looking fresh and youthful. He noticed the envious glances exchanged between Gu Si Yi and Wu Yunyun.
When Lu Xiaoqi put down her chopsticks and said she was done eating, she left.
In the end, only Sun Xian and Hu Feifei remained.
Hu Feifei thought about how she had come here on a mission today; she had to give Sun Xian some face.
She recalled that Han Hanyue used to be Gu Si Yi's girlfriend.
Clearing her throat, she said to Wu Yunyun, "You know, Han Hanyue really liked your boyfriend back then. Everyone in our circle said they were meant to be."
Wu Yunyun didn’t know how to respond; after all, Han Hanyue's beauty was striking, and she hadn’t forgotten about it all these years.
Wu Yunyun instinctively glanced at Gu Si Yi.
He remained silent and did not refute her statement.
Wu Yunyun replied cautiously, "Actually, I know that too."
Hu Feifei was about to say more when Sun Xian pinched her hard from below the table.
Gu Si Yi put down his chopsticks and took Wu Yunyun's hand.
Hu Feifei pouted and asked him, "What are you doing?"
"Nothing. You did well, but don't do it again next time." Sun Xian thought to himself that he had dragged her here; she was just a tool for him. If anyone was at fault, it was him. His tone was one of frustration that he couldn't vent.
Hu Feifei called him crazy and strutted away in her high heels.
Gu Si Yi pulled Wu Yunyun into the room, leaving her bewildered. After closing the door, he directly wrapped his arms around her. "Wu Yunyun, don't you have anything to say to me?"
Earlier, she had been so calm that it inexplicably annoyed him.
"No," Wu Yunyun said, carefully observing his expression. Ever since he mentioned Han Hanyue, he had been like this.
"I can explain," Gu Si Yi said directly. "When I was with Han Hanyue, I had no idea how the outside world perceived us. Besides, after we broke up, there was nothing more."
"I know," Wu Yunyun interrupted Gu Si Yi. "Everyone has a past. Besides, they are bound to break up in the future too."
Gu Si Yi studied her closely, feeling that he still didn't understand what she meant.
"Gu Si Yi, I believe you," Wu Yunyun said to soothe him. She thought there was no need for him to explain; after all, she didn't care too much about an ex-girlfriend.
Gu Si Yi leaned in and kissed her lips, sucking on them again and again. He didn't even know what was wrong with him; seeing her indifferent expression made him feel scared.
He wanted to say something but realized it was better to act instead.
"Gu Si Yi, I just ate," Wu Yunyun weakly pushed him away.
"We barely ate anything. Let's get down to business first, then we'll go out for a feast later."
