The variety show "Cupid's Arrow Strikes Love" has celebrated its sixth anniversary, and from it emerged a couple: Kong Run and Song Mi'er. Fans of this pair affectionately dubbed them "Honey Candy." Their popularity soared, and eventually, they even registered their marriage.
The show's director, Qing Yu, is a surfing enthusiast. After Wu Yunyun and Gu Si Yi's video was released online, she sensed a whiff of profit. She immediately approached the director, A Yang, with her idea: "Sister Yang, now that Wu Yunyun and Gu Si Yi's video is online, doesn't that mean we can edit and release the footage we have of them from the show?"
Thinking back to Wu Yunyun and Gu Dashen, A Yang felt a pang of regret. It was clear to everyone that Gu Dashen had a fondness for Wu Yunyun back then. Especially now that they were married with a child, they likely wouldn’t mind revisiting those memories.
"Sounds promising! Let me contact Gu Dashen," A Yang said.
One weekend, Gu Si Yi received a call from A Yang. After some casual pleasantries, A Yang got straight to the point: "Gu Dashen, we saw your recent updates with your wife online. We’d like to edit some footage of you two from our variety show. Would you be willing?"
"Gu Dashen? When did I acquire that title?" Gu Si Yi thought to himself, feeling amused at being called that for the first time.
"It’s just what we call you privately; it shows our admiration," A Yang explained. They had been completely captivated by his charisma when they saw how he was so devoted to one person in the investment banking world.
The name was initially coined by the makeup artist who followed Gu Dashen around, and soon everyone started using it effortlessly.
"You flatter me. However, I need to check with my wife first and get her opinion," he replied.
"Alright, I'll wait for your response."
Gu Si Yi shared the news with Wu Yunyun. Reflecting on her past awkwardness, she felt she could face it more openly now. Besides, she was curious about how Gu Si Yi had behaved back then. She had been so focused on her own emotions that she had deliberately avoided interacting with him.
"Sure! I'd love to see how you felt back then," Wu Yunyun replied enthusiastically. "It's just perfect timing!"
Gu Si Yi raised his chin proudly. "I was so obvious about my feelings back then; how could you not notice?"
Seeing that he was a bit upset, Wu Yunyun quickly soothed him with a kiss that lasted until he calmed down.
The moments between Gu Si Yi and Wu Yunyun during the show were edited into several short videos by the production team.
They met and danced their first dance together. While riding in the car, Gu Si Yi draped his coat over her. During dinner at the guesthouse, Gu Si Yi's eyes boldly roamed over her. As she sat on a chair to catch her breath, Gu Si Yi watched her from a distance. When she felt down, Gu Si Yi pinched her chin, urging her to come sleep in his room.
With sweet love music playing in the background, Wu Yunyun watched, her eyes gradually misting over. It turned out that his love for her was so obvious back then. After seeing this, Gu Si Yi still felt angry; that Mi Zhong had dared to think he could be with her. Fortunately, she had rejected him; otherwise, he would have had a chance.
Wu Yunyun shifted the board slightly to block Gu Si Yi's view. "Why is your focus so unique?"
"I can't stand others trying to take you from me." The Certain Jealous King pulled Wu Yunyun into his arms tightly.
"You really have no way with me," Wu Yunyun pouted and shot him a glare, but deep down, something inside her blossomed with joy.
