Xu Rong felt a sudden, intense pain in the scar on his right hand, as the Glowing Symbols began to spread across his body. He saw the children turn their heads, wearing eerie smiles on their faces. Their eyes had completely transformed into a fluorescent green, and their mouths stretched wide to the roots of their ears.
"Welcome Home..." they said in unison, their voices echoing in the night sky.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently. Xu Rong watched as the slime in the center of the playground started to bubble, and a massive Glowing Cocoon slowly rose from it. He felt a flood of unfamiliar memories surge into his mind: the darkness of the deep sea, ancient civilizations, and... a catastrophic experiment.
"That’s not 'His' Hatching Ground," Xu Rong murmured. "That’s 'His'... womb..."
At that moment, his phone vibrated. A new video from an unknown number appeared: inside the Underground Factory, the boss lady was placing the last piece of Crispy Pork Skin into a Specialized Dryer. On that skin, Xu Rong's name was unmistakably engraved.
"You are the final key," the voice echoed again. "When 'His' genes fully awaken within you, a new era will come..."
Xu Rong felt the pain in his right hand scar suddenly vanish, replaced by an eerie calmness. He watched as the Glowing Cocoon began to crack open, a gigantic figure slowly rising from within.
A blinding light seeped through the cracks of the Glowing Cocoon, dyeing the entire playground in an unsettling blue-green hue. Xu Rong felt the burning sensation in his right hand reach its peak; the Glowing Symbols had spread to his face. He saw his reflection twisted and distorted on the surface of the slime, one eye completely transformed into fluorescent green.
"Xu Rong!" Lao Chen's voice called out from a distance. "Get away from there!"
But Xu Rong found himself unable to move.
He felt his body being controlled by some unseen force, a flood of unfamiliar memories rushing into his mind: Deep Sea Laboratory, Ancient Scientist, and... a failed experiment.
"You are not an accident," the voice echoed in his head. "You are a meticulously designed vessel, a bridge connecting two worlds."
Suddenly, the Glowing Cocoon shattered completely, and a massive figure slowly rose. It was a perfect humanoid shape, but its entire body was covered in Glowing Symbols, every inch of skin flowing like liquid light.
Xu Rong felt his consciousness begin to blur as he saw the figure reaching out to him. Just then, his phone suddenly rang, displaying the last video from that unfamiliar number.
The screen showed an underground laboratory filled with Cultivation Pods. Each Cultivation Pod contained a glowing figure, identical to those he had seen on the playground. In the center of the lab, a special Cultivation Pod held a floating baby—his own self from twenty years ago.
"You are our most successful Masterpiece," the voice said. "From the moment you were born, we have been perfecting your genetic sequence. 'Crispy Pork Skin' was merely an appetizer, while you... are the main course."
Xu Rong felt his heart constrict violently. He recalled the students munching on snacks at the playground and the sudden rise in Missing Persons Cases in his neighborhood.
So this was all to perfect his genetic sequence.
"When 'He' awakens completely within you," the voice continued, "a new era will dawn..."
