Lin Xiaoxiao stood in the heart of the bustling city, with towering skyscrapers before her, like giants that couldn't touch the sky. The streets were filled with flowing traffic and pedestrians, everything spinning in a fast-paced rhythm, yet no one noticed the turmoil in Lin Xiaoxiao's heart and the extraordinary journey about to begin. Her heart was pounding, her palms slightly damp. This would be her first ghost-catching mission, real and full of unknowns.
Gu sha, tall and imposing, stood beside her, his expression indifferent, as if all of this was just routine for him. His voice was deep and steady, like a whisper in the night wind: "Focus. Feel the changes in the air around you. The presence of spirits will cause subtle disturbances in the air."
Lin Xiaoxiao nodded gently, closed her eyes, and tried to capture the invisible signals. The surrounding sounds gradually faded away, and she felt a cool breeze flowing through the air. A few seconds later, she opened her eyes and decisively pointed to an alley: "There, I have a different feeling."
A faint smile appeared at the corner of Gu sha's mouth, evidently satisfied with Lin Xiaoxiao's intuition. They quickly walked towards the alley. The alley was dim, like a forgotten corner of the city's hustle and bustle, desolate and mysterious, forming a stark contrast with the lively streets.
Walking into the alley, Lin Xiaoxiao felt a chill, as if she had entered another world. She looked around and saw the old walls covered with vines, with flickering lights casting shadows, making the alley even more eerie.
The voice of Gu Sha rang in her ears again: "Pay attention to your observations, use your senses to capture those details that defy logic." His eyes shimmered with profound light, hinting at the extraordinary events about to unfold.
Lin Xiaoxiao nodded, her eyes becoming determined, the silver pendant in her hand shimmering in the dim light. She took a deep breath, focusing all her attention, ready to face the challenge. Shadows in the alley seemed to be moving, an uneasy feeling spreading through the air.
At that moment, a faint sigh echoed from deep within the alley, breaking the silence. Lin Xiaoxiao and Gu sha locked eyes, then moved simultaneously toward the source of the sound.
Suddenly, a blurry figure flashed in the depths of the alley, and Lin Xiaoxiao's heart jumped. Gu Sha signaled her to stay quiet and slowly approach the figure.
As they got closer, the figure became clear, revealing an old man. The old man's eyes were filled with confusion and fear, as if he were searching for something.
Gu sha whispered to Lin Xiaoxiao: "This is a lost soul, be careful and don't panic."
Lin Xiaoxiao took a deep breath, trying to calm her emotions. She softly said to the old man, "Hello, I am Lin Xiaoxiao. What are you looking for?"
The old man's eyes suddenly became sharp, and he said urgently, "I am looking for my home, I am lost."
Lin Xiaoxiao was moved, she knew this was the soul's attachment to memories of its past life. She comforted the old man gently, "We can help you find your way home."
Gu sha watched from the side, knowing that Lin Xiaoxiao was learning the skill of communicating with souls.
Suddenly, the old man's figure began to blur. He seemed to realize his true identity, and screamed in terror as his figure swiftly drifted through the air.
Lin Xiaoxiao was startled by the sudden change, but she quickly calmed down and followed Gu sha's footsteps, beginning to chase the elusive soul.
They weaved through narrow alleys, the old man's soul constantly evading them, emitting piercing screams. Lin Xiaoxiao felt a mix of tension and excitement in her heart, an experience she had never encountered before.
In the midst of the chase, Gu sha suddenly accelerated, reaching out his hand as a burst of spiritual energy shot out from his palm, accurately enveloping the soul. The old man's soul was fixed in mid-air, unable to move.
Gu sha walked up to the soul and said softly, "Rest now, your journey has come to an end. Let us help you find your true home."
The old man's soul gradually calmed down, and a hint of gratitude appeared in his eyes. Then, his figure gradually dissipated, turning into a beam of light and drifting towards the sky.
Lin Xiaoxiao stood in place, feeling her heartbeat gradually calming down. She turned to look at Gu sha with awe and gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Gu sha. I have learned a lot."
Gu sha nodded, his eyes shimmering with approval: "You did well, Lin Xiaoxiao. This is just the beginning, you have a long way to go."
Lin Xiaoxiao smiled, her eyes shining with new determination: "I'm ready, Gu sha. I will continue to learn and become a true ghost hunter."
They left the alley and merged into the night of the city.
Leaving the dark alley, Lin Xiaoxiao and Gu Sha entered the bustling city night. Under the street lights, the laughter of people and the noisy sound of vehicles intertwined into a lively urban scene. A hint of curiosity flashed in Gu Sha's eyes, and he seemed to be fascinated by this vibrant human world.
Lin Xiaoxiao noticed Gu sha's expression and asked softly, "Are you curious about the human world, Gu sha?"
Gu sha nodded, with a hint of curiosity in his eyes, "Indeed, I am very curious about your world. After all, our life in the Underworld is very different from yours."
Lin Xiaoxiao's eyes flashed with a hint of a smile as she suggested, "Then let me take you on a tour, perhaps you can better understand our world."
Gu sha's smile, though subtle, was like a warm sun in the spring breeze, giving a sense of warmth and tranquility.
