He walked and soon arrived at the teaching building. Yan Qing didn’t find anything strange about it. By the way, what happened to the guy with the yellow hair? He had seen the surveillance monitor light up while in the lobby, so the cameras were operational. 0

"I watched a bit of the footage, and personally, I think the guy with the yellow hair was acting more like he was trying to save someone," Tan Ming said. 0

"Huh?" Yan Qing's eyes widened in confusion. "Then why did he run?" 0

Tan Ming shook his head, unable to make sense of that question. 0

At that moment, Yan Qing suddenly stopped in his tracks, finally realizing something was off. The stairwell was on the right side of the main road; they were supposed to be heading to the teaching building! 0

They hadn’t made a mistake. The place they were going wasn’t the stairwell at all—it was the teaching building. 0

At the second-floor elevator entrance, Tan Ming pointed decisively and pressed the elevator button. 0

With a soft ding, the elevator doors slowly opened. Inside, the guy with the yellow hair huddled in a corner like a startled hedgehog, clutching his head. His body trembled violently, and his eyes were filled with fear and wariness. 0

In the surveillance room, Tan Ming hadn’t found where the guy with the yellow hair was hiding, but the camera had captured him disappearing at the second-floor stairwell. 0

He couldn’t have run far; it hadn’t been long since they reacted and chased down from the third floor. There was no reason for him to vanish completely after coming down. 0

The only possibility was that he had hidden on the second floor. 0

If he had barged into a classroom, there would have been noise when he opened the door, but they hadn’t heard anything. So, he hadn’t hidden in a classroom. 0

Since he didn’t hide in a classroom, the only place where he could quickly conceal himself was around the corner of the elevator at the second-floor stairwell. 0

When they entered the lobby, Tan Ming had keenly noticed that the elevator had stopped on the second floor; when they came down from above, it remained on that floor. 0

"Stop hiding," Tan Ming said coldly. 0

Hearing his voice, the guy with yellow hair slowly lowered his hands from his head, though his eyes remained alert as he stared at them. "What do you want from me?" 0

They stepped into the elevator, and Tan Ming pressed down on the door to keep it from closing too quickly. As the doors began to close, in that confined space, the tension in yellow hair’s expression eased slightly, but his body remained tense and ready for anything. 0

"Are you a messenger?" Yan Qing asked him. 0

"What is a Messenger?" The yellow-haired boy's eyes were filled with innocence, and his clear, bewildered expression left Tan Ming and Yan Qing momentarily at a loss. 0

"You don't know what a Messenger is? Wasn't it explained clearly when the system activated?" Yan Qing thought to himself, feeling perplexed. 0

"Of course I don't know!" the yellow-haired boy retorted loudly. 0

"Weren't you listening when the system activated?" Yan Qing pressed on. 0

"I was sleeping in the dormitory at that time. Who knew that when I woke up and stepped out, the world had changed?" The yellow-haired boy shrugged helplessly, a bitter smile on his face. 0

Yan Qing couldn't help but admire him. It was remarkable that he had managed to survive in such a bizarre and dangerous environment with such a carefree attitude. 0

Suddenly, Yan Qing thought of a question. "Wait, buddy, if you're not a Messenger, then why were you able to come back to life after dying?" 0

The yellow-haired boy pointed at himself, looking equally confused. "When did I die?" 0

"You've never died?" Yan Qing's eyes widened in disbelief. How could that be possible? He had seen the shocking state the boy was in before—his body had been split in half! 0

"In the Huangmen Chicken Rice Restaurant on Business Street! Think carefully!" Yan Qing urged, practically wishing he could think for him since the boy still seemed oblivious. 0

"I haven't died! After the system activated, I've been here in the teaching building," the yellow-haired boy said, furrowing his brow. 0

Yan Qing wondered if he and Tan Ming had somehow misjudged him. But if the yellow-haired boy really had died, then who was standing right in front of them now? 0
