Yan Qing's expression seemed a bit off, and Tan Ming couldn't help but ponder over it. Yan Qing had known he wouldn't be able to hide it from him. Taking a deep breath, he said, "She is my vocal teacher, Professor Xu Yan!"
"Is she the one from that dead commercial street?" Tan Ming pressed, his gaze fixed intently on Yan Qing.
"Yes," Yan Qing replied, his voice somewhat subdued.
Tan Ming recalled how Yan Qing had wiped away the blood left by that female teacher. To this day, he couldn't understand why Yan Qing would erase the blood she had left behind. He knew that Yan Qing was hiding something from him.
"The death of Professor Xu Yan was very unusual," Yan Qing said, his face darkening and brows furrowing.
"What do you mean by unusual?" Tan Ming's expression grew serious.
"Have you seen Ghost Movie? The way she died was just like those people in the film who were scared to death by a female ghost," Yan Qing explained, and the horrifying images flashed in his mind. He realized that the more he described it, the more it resembled what he had witnessed.
"I'm sorry, I haven't seen Ghost Movie. But what you said, I will think about it seriously," Tan Ming replied earnestly, his expression focused.
Seeing his serious demeanor made Yan Qing feel somewhat amused; the gloom in his heart dissipated a little. Perhaps I am just overthinking it?
Tan Ming lifted his head, his eyes narrowing as he firmly stated, "There's never smoke without fire!"
An hour later, the Messengers entered the conference room one after another. Yan Qing stopped at the door, leaning back against the wall.
Tan Ming glanced at him and took his hand, leading him inside.
"Hey, don't forget about me!" Qi Qiuluo called out as she hurried in after them.
"Our Messengers are having a meeting; isn't it inappropriate for them to come in?" Zhang Liu frowned and remarked.
"There’s nothing inappropriate about it. So far, everyone alive in the school—whether they are Messengers or ordinary people—are all in the same boat. There’s no need for any taboos. Besides, if he doesn’t come in to listen, I will still tell him everything later; there’s no need to complicate things," Tan Ming said firmly.
Yan Qing felt warmth in his heart and thought to himself: He thought Tan Ming was just big and a bit clever; he didn’t expect him to be so articulate as well.
Zhang Liu sighed but didn’t continue to argue.
The three of them pulled out chairs and sat down.
Zhang Liu spread his hands on the table and cut straight to the point: "What discoveries have you all made?"
The first to speak was Shen Jianghuan, his voice steady and powerful. "I checked the surveillance footage on the first floor and found that it had been deliberately tampered with between ten twenty and ten fifty-five this morning. All the information regarding the dormitory names stored in the Administrative Building's data room has been destroyed."
Jiang Jie followed up, "I didn’t find any clues left by the murderer, but I did notice something strange: it seems like none of the teachers in the school are alive." Her brow furrowed tightly, her face filled with confusion as she pondered the oddity of the situation.
Ke Jianping and Master Ban shook their heads, indicating they hadn’t discovered anything either.
"Um, I found this. Is it useful?" Dr. Wang cautiously pulled out a half piece of paper, on which a blood-stained drawing of an animal was sketched. However, the artist's skill was quite poor; the drawing was extremely abstract, and one could barely make out the outline of a dog.
Ke Jianping gruffly asked, "Can this even be considered a clue?" His face was marked with skepticism; it looked more like a prank than anything serious.
Zhang Liu took it into his hands, scrutinizing it closely before passing it to others. When it reached Tan Ming, Yan Qing couldn’t help but glance at it twice. The dog depicted had a bit of a goofy look to it, but its eyes were far too fierce.
Fierce!
Wait a minute.
Upon closer inspection, that tail wasn’t from a dog; it belonged to a wolf!
A wolf... a werewolf!
Yan Qing’s breath involuntarily slowed, her heart suddenly racing as if it were about to leap out of her throat.
