"Is this the clue left by the murderer?" Shen Jianghuan asked, his face full of confusion.
Xie Jian clicked his tongue, furrowing his brow. "But what can we deduce from this? Is the murderer a dog?"
Zhang Liu turned to Dr. Wang, his tone serious. "Where did you find this?"
"In the office," Dr. Wang replied.
"How did you discover it?" Zhang Liu continued to press.
"I pushed the door open and saw it lying on the floor," Dr. Wang recalled the scene.
"Was it a clue intentionally left by the murderer?" Shen Jianghuan asked again, his eyes filled with curiosity.
Zhang Liu carefully placed the paper on the table, his movements gentle. "For now, let's consider this a potential clue. What about you? Can you explain why you ran to the principal's office?" His gaze shifted to Tan Ming.
"This is Wang Xiaoyan's personal file." Tan Ming handed over the document containing Wang Xiaoyan's information for everyone to look at.
As it passed to Jiang Jie, she glanced at Wang Xiaoyan's colored photo and her eyes swept down to her birthplace: Shengnan City, Huixian, Luohua Village.
"What's wrong?" Shen Jianghuan noticed Jiang Jie staring at the information sheet and thought she had discovered something.
"Nothing, it's just that my hometown is in Huixian too," Jiang Jie said, retracting her gaze and handing the paper back to Shen Jianghuan.
Shen Jianghuan took a quick look before passing it to Dr. Wang. Dr. Wang stared at Wang Xiaoyan's photo for a long time, his eyes reddening.
"What's wrong with you?" Shen Jianghuan asked in confusion.
Dr. Wang couldn't contain his emotions any longer. "I'm also from Huixian; I suddenly miss my family."
The others exchanged glances.
"The files in the archive room are all sealed, except for Wang Xiaoyan's, which was opened. I only found out through Messenger Tool that an envoy had been here before us and destroyed some information. Wang Xiaoyan's information appeared suddenly after that destruction. If the envoy who destroyed the files is the murderer, then it's very likely that Wang Xiaoyan's data is a written clue left by them," Tan Ming explained methodically.
"If what you're saying is true, then why would the murderer leave behind Wang Xiaoyan's data? What connection does she have with the murderer?" Xie Jian frowned tightly, unable to see the correlation clearly.
He felt that the person who destroyed the documents was far more suspicious than Wang Xiaoyan herself.
Qi Qiuluo interjected eagerly, "How could there be no connection? This all came about after Wang Xiaoyan died!" His tone was urgent, seemingly frustrated with Xie Jian's lack of understanding.
"It's so simple; how can you not see it?"
"This is ridiculous," Xie Jian shook his head repeatedly.
"With everything out in the open, what outrageous things can we still not accept?" Qi Qiuluo thought her guesses were pretty spot on, her eyes filled with confidence.
"This is simply nonsense!"
"How is it nonsense?" Qi Qiuluo immediately became displeased, her face flushed red. Wasn't what I thought correct?
"Isn't this nonsense? How many people here actually believe it?" Xie Jian retorted, his eyes wide and his voice raised.
The two of them exchanged heated words, arguing fiercely.
Zhang Liuli tapped the table. "We are merely stating our views objectively; emotions must be kept out of this."
Qi Qiuluo huffed, turning her head away and muttering under her breath.
Xie Jian crossed his arms and turned his head away, a look of disdain on his face.
"Let's start voting now," Tan Ming said quietly.
Yan Qing glanced at Tan Ming, her face filled with surprise. "Isn't this a bit rushed? Aren't we going to discuss our opinions first? Just vote directly?"
Among these people, Xie Jian, Master Ban, and Dr. Wang were not staying in the school dormitory, making them very unlikely to be the culprits.
Meanwhile, Shen Jianghuan and Jiang Jie were both girls, which also made them less likely to fit the profile of the murderer based on common reasoning.
