Tan Ming and Zhang Liu both had their own justifications for proving their identities.
"Who can we vote for?" someone asked.
"We have to vote," Tan Ming replied calmly, scanning the crowd. In truth, anyone could be the killer, as the system's clues were vague. For instance, if someone was not a Dormitory Resident but had visited one, could they still be implicated? The only thing the system clearly indicated was that the killer was among them.
"Maybe we’ll get lucky and vote out the killer right away," Tan Ming added, a hint of hope in his voice.
Yan Qing thought to herself, "What luck? If we were lucky, this damned system wouldn’t have been activated in the first place."
"That makes sense," Zhang Liu nodded in agreement.
Jiang Jie glanced at Zhang Liu and suddenly a piece of information flashed in her mind. His identity was Prophet, ranked among the Plum Blossom, wielding the Precognitive Eye tool that could accurately foresee the killer.
"Accurately foresee the killer?" she pondered. This meant he could predict who the killer was directly. But if he could accurately foresee who it was, why did he say that there were written clues left by the killer in this building?
Jiang Jie felt a surge of confusion, her brows furrowing tightly.
"The Termination Evolution Talisman is only effective for ten hours; two-thirds of that time has already passed," Shen Jianghuan reminded them.
"How many times can we use the Termination Evolution Talisman?" Yan Qing thought about her Werewolf Shield, which could be used three times.
"Indeed, three times," Shen Jianghuan confirmed. However, she had her reservations. "Tan Ming said we need to last at least ten days; we can’t leave ourselves without any means of survival."
So she wouldn’t use it consecutively.
"Oh," Yan Qing acknowledged.
"Enough with the chatter; are we voting or not?" Li Jianping shouted impatiently, veins bulging on his forehead.
Since anyone could potentially be the killer, why not just vote? In half an hour, evolution would occur among the plants and animals; whether they would survive or not was uncertain. So why hesitate?
Tan Ming said, "If you want to vote, just do it."
Is human life so trivial to him? Yan Qing looked at him in surprise, filled with doubt and unable to decipher his thoughts.
He wasn't worried at all about being voted against?
"I’m voting for the Thief!" Li Jianping said, cracking his knuckles, a bit impatient.
He didn’t care whether the Thief was the murderer; stealing his Satiation Pill was enough to deserve death.
Li Jianping tightly gripped his Red Card, his fingers tracing a number as he slowly closed his eyes.
The Red Card lit up.
Others quickly took out their own Red Cards and gently placed them on the table in front of them, the red side facing up.
One minute later.
The system's cold voice suddenly echoed, announcing that four players had initiated a vote. The results were as follows: the Chef voted to kill the Thief; the Thief voted to kill the Chef; the Sorcerer voted to kill both Destruction and the Chef; Destruction voted to kill the Sorcerer.
The Chef received the most votes.
Li Jianping abruptly opened his eyes, his pupils dilated in shock. How could this be possible! He shouted in disbelief, his face filled with astonishment and anger.
The others were equally taken aback, their expressions varying from open-mouthed surprise to furrowed brows.
The Thief, Destruction, and Sorcerer?
