If he had known that his impulsive action would expose his identity as a werewolf, he might have been more cautious. He had already saved the person, and he didn't regret it; after all, neither of them was dead, so wasn't that a win? 0

However, he still felt a bit unhappy. Being driven away left him feeling humiliated. He cared about his pride, even if just a little. 0

Yan Qing sat on the ground, his head hanging low, his claws idly playing with the items on Tan Ming, but in reality, he was masking his emotions. He couldn't let Tan Ming see his despondency. 0

For some reason, Yan Qing recalled Zhao Xiang's frequent reminders that he shouldn't be unhappy. Back then, Yan Qing also felt somewhat off, but he had forgotten who had upset him; in any case, he wasn't particularly cheerful. He continued to pretend no one was around, merely looking sullen. 0

Zhao Xiang knew him too well; after a day of acting, he had seen right through him in an instant. He asked why? Why shouldn’t Yan Qing be happy? Everyone experiences joy and sorrow; why should Yan Qing be any different? 0

Yan Qing had grown accustomed to being carefree. He muttered a curse and playfully punched Zhao Xiang. Though he didn’t use much strength, Zhao Xiang still clutched his chest dramatically and yelped. Eventually, Yan Qing couldn’t help but stifle a laugh despite himself. 0

Even after transforming into a wolf, his emotions were still evident on his face. When Tan Ming noticed the corners of Yan Qing’s mouth lifting and his thoughts drifting away, he cleared his throat. 0

“What’s wrong?” Yan Qing snapped back to reality. 0

After transforming into a wolf, Yan Qing stood nearly two meters tall and was still growing—he was approaching three meters now, with a robust and powerful build. In contrast, the sheep that had swapped identities with Tan Ming remained unchanged at only half a meter tall. Yan Qing had to look down at him while sitting. 0

Unexpectedly, when he kicked his legs out slightly with force, he accidentally knocked Tan Ming over. Tan Ming rolled over on the ground, lying on his back and flailing his limbs. Still unaccustomed to controlling the sheep's body, he couldn’t manage to flip himself over. With all four hooves flailing in the air, he repeatedly missed every attempt to right himself. 0

Yan Qing's wide wolf mouth was almost grinning into a narrow slit. 0

"Help!" Tan Ming said, looking at the imposing wolf in front of him, who clearly found the situation amusing. 0

"Look at you, don’t be in such a hurry," Yan Qing said lazily as he grabbed Tan Ming by the neck and flipped his body over. 0

After turning him over, Yan Qing's grin remained undiminished. It was rare to see Tan Ming at a disadvantage, and he was determined to enjoy it. 0

But then Tan Ming asked him, "How have you been out there?" 0

He noticed with keen eyes that Yan Qing had a wound on his ear and several bite marks on his body. 0

The smile at the corner of Yan Qing's mouth froze for a moment as he casually replied, "Oh, it’s fine. You see, I’m doing quite well now." He turned his head away and pawed at the grass on the ground, digging a fist-sized hole. 0

Yan Qing was reluctant to discuss this topic and even seemed somewhat resistant. 0

The hours of roaring had nearly drained all his strength. He couldn't bear to confront the beastly image of himself that lingered in his mind, one that he had unconsciously but vividly experienced. 0

He had imagined a day when he would do nothing, but he never envisioned a day when he would cease to be human. 0

Undoubtedly, this had planted a seed of fear deep within Yan Qing's heart. 0

Tan Ming was skilled at reading people's emotions; he could guess that Yan Qing might have had an unpleasant experience outside. 0

Having exchanged identities with the sheep, Tan Ming had witnessed more than a fifth of what Yan Qing had not seen during his journey to find him. 0

Aside from the fact that Yan Qing had spent more time outside, Tan Ming had come from Agricultural College. 0

In the school, the Mutated Flora and Fauna were almost all gathered around the restaurant, either running or walking. Most of what Tan Ming encountered were either Mutated Plants with fixed activity ranges or less dangerous Mutated Animals, so he wasn’t fully aware of what had changed outside. 0

It seemed that all of this was related to Yan Qing's resistance. 0

Tan Ming wasn’t particularly considerate; deep down, he was half indifferent and half unfeeling. If the person in front of him were Qi Qiuluo instead, he might not care about their resistance at all and would decisively tear open their wounds, interrogating them until he extracted the answers he wanted to hear from their bloody injuries. 0

But here stood Yan Qing before him. 0

Tan Ming shifted the topic, "After you left, something happened in the restaurant..." 0
