The next day, Wang Xiaoyan asked Zhu Yihuang to help her take out the trash.
Zhu Yihuang was a bit displeased. "Am I your maid? Why are you bossing me around?"
"Please, Miss!" Wang Xiaoyan replied, handing her the garbage bag from the bathroom.
Zhu Yihuang let out a cold snort. This week it was Wang Xiaoyan's turn to deal with the dorm trash, and she was in a hurry to use the restroom while Zhu Yihuang was just about to head downstairs. Reluctantly, Zhu Yihuang carried the trash down.
However, on the third floor, the garbage bag tore open, spilling its contents everywhere. Among the pile of tissues, a pregnancy test stick was awkwardly wedged in, along with a delivery box addressed to Wei.
Zhu Yihuang felt as if she had uncovered a shocking secret; she covered her mouth in disbelief. On one hand, she was astonished that Wei Yu was pregnant, and on the other hand, she couldn't shake off the thought that Wei Yu might be cheating.
Still dazed from the revelation, Zhu Yihuang sat in the dormitory when Wang Xiaoyan suddenly asked her what gift she planned to give Lin Hao for his upcoming birthday.
Wang Xiaoyan's question felt like a reminder. Zhu Yihuang jolted up in realization. She and Lin Hao had grown up together, and it was through her that Wei Yu had met him. Their dormitory and Lin Hao's dormitory got along well, often celebrating birthdays together.
Suddenly, the thought of her childhood friend being cheated on filled her with rage. Fuming, she stormed out of the dormitory.
Behind her, Wang Xiaoyan called her mother. "Mom, can you transfer me another three thousand yuan?"
"Didn't I already send you two thousand this month?" her mother asked in confusion.
"Oh, I need it for online courses for my graduate exams," Wang Xiaoyan quickly made up an excuse.
Without hesitation, the Queen Mother said, "Mom will call you in a bit. By the way, Wang Xiaowei is back from school. He wants to talk to you."
Wang Xiaowei's cheerful voice came through the receiver. "Sister, when do you have a break? I miss you! I scored a hundred on my test, and all the students are so envious of me. But I told them I have an amazing sister who's in college!"
Wang Xiaoyan smiled.
"I admire you so much, Sister! Please come back soon. When you do, I'll take you to meet my friends; they don't believe how great you are. Just wait until you have a break, and we'll show off together!"
"Sister is still busy," Wang Xiaoyan replied.
Wang Xiaowei quickly said, "You go ahead and be busy then; I won't disturb your studies," before hanging up.
A few minutes later, the Queen Mother transferred three thousand yuan to her.
Wang Xiaoyan went to the bank to withdraw the cash. Adding her own savings, she took out five thousand in total.
With the five thousand yuan in hand, she went to the mall and bought a men's watch, spending over a hundred on a gift box as well.
That evening, Zhu Yihuang called her, asking if she could pick them up.
Wang Xiaoyan took a taxi to their address, which was at a bar.
Zhu Yihuang and Lin Hao had both drunk too much; they were hugging each other while crying and cursing.
Zhu Yihuang was still somewhat coherent, but Lin Hao was completely out of it. Wang Xiaoyan carefully supported him.
Lin Hao grabbed her arm and kept asking, "Why did you treat me like this? Why? You won’t let me come find you; why won’t you let me?"
Lin Hao was handsome, and even while crying, Wang Xiaoyan didn’t feel pity but rather saw his deep emotions.
Two days later, a post appeared on the confession wall claiming that Wei Yu had cheated and was pregnant.
The news spread quickly.
Unable to bear the shock, Wei Yu jumped off a building to commit suicide.
Zhu Yihuang was scared and didn’t dare stay at school; he packed his things and went home.
In the dormitory, there were only her and Xin. A few days later, the school found out that the post was made by Zhu Yihuang. Zhu Yihuang was summoned for questioning.
