Tan Chi clung to Yan Qing's leg, pleading with him, "Yan Ge, can we go to the Haunted House? My brother has never taken me there before." 0

Yan Qing, unable to resist the child's request, agreed to take him. Inside the Haunted House, the setting was reminiscent of the Republican Era, with zombies dressed in old-fashioned white shirts and gray trousers, their faces painted to look eerily lifelike. 0

Yan Qing had thought he was not afraid of ghosts, but upon entering, he realized that had been a huge misconception. The atmosphere inside was intense. Yan Qing's face turned pale as he tried to keep his composure. 0

However, Tan Chi was having a blast; he was clever and led Yan Qing through the challenges. After pushing open a door, they were suddenly confronted by a hanging female ghost. Yan Qing let out a piercing scream and bolted backward in fright. 0

When they opened another door, without thinking, Yan Qing jumped straight into someone's arms, burying his head against their chest. The person was none other than Tan Ming, who had followed them into the Haunted House. 0

For Tan Ming, the game posed no challenge at all. He walked slowly, deliberately trying not to let the child notice him. He usually waited for them to find clues and open doors before catching up with them again. He hadn’t expected to be collided with by Yan Qing. 0

Realizing what had happened, Yan Qing quickly apologized, "I'm sorry! You staff members are just too convincing!" Under the dim atmospheric lights, he mistook Tan Ming for one of the staff because of the makeup that made it look like he had injuries. 0

In reality, Tan Ming's wounds were real, not just makeup. He had been following them all day; wherever they went, he went too. Meanwhile, the two who were focused on having fun were completely oblivious to his presence. 0

After leaving the bar, Yan Qing noticed it was getting late and decided it was time to take the child home. However, the child didn’t want to go home. He stared at his little shoes and said sadly, "My brother fights; I don’t like them." 0

"Why did your brother get into a fight?" 0
"I don't know." 0
"Then why are you sad?" 0
"They're my brothers; I don't want to see them fighting." 0
"Then tell your family about it. If you say something, they'll know." 0
"They don't listen to me." 0
"Then just ignore them. Why should you care for those who don't care for you?" 0

After hearing this, the child pushed Yan Qing away. "Don't say anything about my brother!" 0
Yan Qing sighed helplessly. 0
In the end, he coaxed the child and took him to the police station. 0

When they arrived at the station, the child saw it and immediately tried to run away, but Yan Qing caught him and carried him inside against his will. 0

After they came out, Yan Qing spotted a shared bike by the roadside. 0
He wasn't in a hurry to leave; instead, he pushed the bike leisurely while enjoying the gentle evening breeze as he walked forward. 0
Under the streetlight, his shadow stretched long behind him. 0

Turning a corner, he ran into Tan Ming again. 0
Yan Qing greeted him with a smile, "Oh, it's you! Did you apply the medicine?" 0
Tan Ming saw him pushing the bike and asked, "Where are you going?" 0
"I'm just going to take a ride around the city and then head home to prepare for the Art Examination and college entrance exams." 0
"Which school are you applying to?" 0

"Huh?" Yan Qing realized this was the first time he was discussing such things with someone he had only known for a few hours. 0
He spoke casually, but his relaxed demeanor felt out of place compared to Tan Ming's focused determination as a diligent student of their age. 0
