Kong Haoyu's words offered Mu Yunze a glimmer of encouragement, yet he remained indecisive. He feared rejection, dreaded ridicule, and was most terrified of losing the delicate distance he currently maintained. 0

In the dimly lit corner of the staircase, discarded tables and chairs were piled up, exuding a faint musty odor. Mu Yunze clutched a thick calculus textbook, intending to find a quiet place to study when he inadvertently overheard a familiar voice. It was the Class Flower, accompanied by her inseparable friend, Han Jincheng. 0

Driven by curiosity, Mu Yunze tiptoed behind the heap of abandoned furniture. 0

"Honestly, how can Mu Yunze be so clueless? He can't even understand such simple problems," the Class Flower's voice dripped with mockery, starkly contrasting her usual gentle tone. 0

Mu Yunze's heart tightened as if pricked by a needle. 0

"Well, he does seem to care about you. He saves you a seat every day and even buys you water," Han Jincheng teased. 0

"With his cowardly demeanor, that's about all he's capable of," the Class Flower scoffed with disdain. "But honestly, his foolishness is somewhat amusing." 0

"Amusing? You can't be serious about playing with him," Han Jincheng replied, her tone laced with doubt. 0

"Just having some fun; who told him to be so easy to hook?" the Class Flower said lightly, her voice filled with playful mockery. 0

"There are so many boys chasing after me, showering me with gifts like peacocks flaunting their feathers. And then there's Mu Yunze—he's like a wooden post, not even daring to give me a glance! It's infuriating!" The Class Flower stomped her foot in frustration, her delicate features contorted with anger. 0

Han Jincheng stifled a laugh. "He's just shy! You're the class beauty; how many people secretly admire you? He probably fears rejection and doesn't dare confess." 0

"Shy? More like a coward! I'm a beauty beyond compare; how can he not take the initiative? It's such a waste!" The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. A desire to conquer surged within her. She was determined to see how long he could keep up this act! 0

Hiding behind the tables and chairs, Mu Yunze felt as if his blood had turned to ice. She had been toying with him all along! All her previous kindness and warmth were merely tools for manipulation! His heart felt as though it had been violently ripped apart, leaving him gasping for breath. 0

He bit his lip tightly to suppress any sound that might escape him, but his body trembled uncontrollably. 0

Mu Yunze held his breath as his heart raced wildly, as if it might leap from his chest. He felt like a clown being played with by the Class Flower. 0

"I have an idea," the Class Flower said excitedly. "How about we make a bet?" 0

"What kind of bet?" Han Jincheng asked curiously. 0

"Let's wager on whether I can get both the most honest boy in school and the biggest troublemaker to fall at my feet within half a month," she said nonchalantly, as if discussing something trivial. 0

A buzzing filled Mu Yunze's mind; he knew exactly who she meant by the most honest boy in school. 0

"Are you out of your mind? Ye Jingtai is not someone you can mess with seriously; he's notoriously difficult!" Han Jincheng expressed concern. 0

"What’s there to fear? It’s all about the thrill!" The Class Flower laughed dismissively. "I've already chosen my target—Mu Yunze! He's the most honest one around; he's practically a blockhead with no challenge at all." 0

Hearing his name sent a jolt through Mu Yunze, overwhelming him with humiliation. He clenched his fists tightly, his nails digging into his palms, yet he dared not make a sound. 0

"Please tell me that troublemaker isn’t Ye Jingtai," Han Jincheng said skeptically. "He's notoriously hard to handle; are you sure you can manage him?" 0

Of course it's him, who else would be qualified? The Class Flower raised an eyebrow proudly. I had already greeted him; now I was just waiting for him to take the bait. 0

Ye Jingtai? That notorious troublemaker from the next class? Mu Yunze looked even more puzzled. 0
