Ye Jingtai's face turned ashen, angered by Mu Yunze's flippant attitude. "Enough of the nonsense!" He glared fiercely at Mu Yunze. "Weren't you quite arrogant yesterday? Let's see if you can still act tough now!"
"Arrogant?" Mu Yunze scoffed. "I was merely defending myself. But you, Brother Tai, bringing so many people to block me—what are you trying to do? Want to go to the station for some tea?"
The thugs behind Ye Jingtai burst into laughter, as if they had heard the greatest joke. "Who are you trying to scare?" one of the green-haired thugs shouted. "Do you think the police are your family’s business?"
Ignoring the taunts, Mu Yunze continued, " Brother Tai, I advise you to take your people and leave quickly. Once the police arrive, none of you will escape."
"Police?" Ye Jingtai sneered, curling his lip. "Do you think I’m afraid of them? I was running this place long before you even knew how to play in the mud!"
"Oh really?" Mu Yunze raised an eyebrow in feigned surprise. "Then I’d love to see what Brother Tai is capable of."
Unable to hold back any longer, Ye Jingtai waved his hand, and his thugs rushed forward with their weapons drawn towards Mu Yunze.
Mu Yunze was prepared; he dodged a steel pipe that came at him and kicked another thug in the stomach. The thug let out a pained scream and fell to the ground clutching his belly.
"Damn it! Everyone, attack!" Ye Jingtai roared, joining the fray.
Though Mu Yunze was skilled enough to hold his own against multiple opponents, he soon found himself overwhelmed. He dodged attacks while searching for an opportunity to escape.
As expected, he was outnumbered, and it wasn’t long before he started taking hits.
Still, Mu Yunze stuck to his plan, buying time.
Before long, the sound of police sirens echoed from a distance.
Ye Jingtai's expression changed; he hadn’t expected the police to actually show up. He quickly shouted to his thugs, "Retreat!"
But it was too late. The police cars pulled up in front of them, and several officers jumped out, surrounding Ye Jingtai and his gang.
"Help! Police comrades!" Mu Yunze feigned panic, pointing at Ye Jingtai and his men. "These guys are trying to kill me!"
Ye Jingtai's face turned green with rage as he pointed at Mu Yunze and shouted, "You little bastard! You're setting me up!"
The police shot him a cold glance and replied, "Save it for the station."
Soon after, Ye Jingtai and his thugs were all handcuffed and loaded into the police car.
As the sound of sirens faded into the distance, a broader smile spread across Mu Yunze's face, a triumphant curve forming at the corners of his lips. Yesterday’s arrogant provocation from Liu Feng was merely Ye Jingtai’s first test; how could he let this chance slip away?
Mu Yunze had anticipated that Ye Jingtai would come seeking revenge and had already discussed a strategy with Li Haoyu in advance.
He instructed Li Haoyu to be on standby and call the police immediately upon receiving his signal. Thus, their earlier conversation had seemed casual but was actually a clever ploy to buy time until the police arrived to turn the tide in his favor.
