Han Jincheng felt a pang in her heart at the sight of her once vibrant friend in such a state. The proud Class Flower who treated love like a game now resembled a shattered porcelain doll, evoking deep sympathy.
"Lin Shu Yao! What happened to you?" Han Jincheng rushed forward and grabbed Class Flower's arm. But Class Flower seemed not to hear, staring blankly ahead and walking mechanically, allowing Han Jincheng to pull her without resistance or response.
"Lin Shu Yao, please say something! What on earth happened?" Han Jincheng was nearly in tears as she shook Class Flower vigorously. "I'm really worried about you!"
Class Flower remained silent; her eyes flickered slightly as if struggling or evading. Slowly, she withdrew her arm and continued to walk forward unsteadily, as if she might collapse at any moment.
Chu Mohan watched Class Flower's retreating figure and said worriedly to Mu Yunze, "Mu Yunze, Lin Shu Yao seems off."
Mu Yunze nodded, filled with confusion and unease. Class Flower's abnormal behavior reminded him of the rumors from last night; he dared not think further as a sense of foreboding enveloped him.
The unease in Mu Yunze's heart grew stronger over the next few days as Class Flower did not attend classes. Various rumors spread through the campus like wild grass, each version more outrageous than the last. Some said she was being supported by a wealthy heir and had fled; others claimed she was pregnant and hiding away to give birth; even more said she had been toyed with by Ye Jingtai and then abandoned, leading to a mental breakdown.
Listening to these rumors left Mu Yunze feeling mixed emotions. He tried to contact Class Flower, but her phone was always off and she did not respond on WeChat. Han Jincheng was frantic like an ant on a hot pan; she understood Class Flower better than anyone else—knowing that beneath her seemingly strong exterior lay a fragile heart.
Days later, news exploded across campus like a bomb: Class Flower had dropped out and left the city.
This news came too suddenly for everyone to handle. Teacher Wang announced it during class meeting with regret and helplessness in his tone. He did not disclose the specifics of Class Flower's withdrawal but urged everyone not to speculate excessively and to respect her choice.
The classroom fell into silence as students were engulfed in shock and disbelief. Tears streamed down Han Jincheng's face uncontrollably; she could hardly believe that the proud Class Flower would leave in such a manner. Chu Mohan gently patted her shoulder, offering silent comfort.
Mu Yunze also felt surprised; although he had sensed something might happen with Class Flower, he never expected it would be this serious. He recalled Class Flower's hollow gaze and bruised lips, which caused his heart to ache subtly. He wanted to know the truth—what exactly had she gone through?
