Since their encounter in the Golden Triangle last year, more than half a year had passed, but Lin Rumei had not forgotten Jiang Chen. Mark's eyes nearly popped out of his head. He had finally gotten a chance to see Jiang Chen in trouble, but unexpectedly, Jiang Chen even knew Lin Rumei. Mark's heart trembled as if someone had struck it with a hammer; he felt short of breath and slightly dizzy.
If anyone remained calm, it was probably Lin Jingzhu and Ding Yan; they were aware of Jiang Chen's strength.
Jiang Chen looked at Lin Rumei with mild surprise and smiled, "Miss Lin, you recognize me?"
"Of course, Mr. Jiang. I happened to be there when you eliminated the Kunshan Group in the Golden Triangle last time," Lin Rumei quickly replied.
Since returning from that trip, Lin Rumei had hoped to encounter Jiang Chen again and make his acquaintance.
"That's good to know," Jiang Chen nodded and then turned his gaze towards the young man's family of three, saying lightly, "Is this how your subordinates usually behave—arrogantly?"
"Mr. Jiang, if they offended you, I will definitely discipline them severely," Lin Rumei quickly assured.
"Disciplining them won't do; since they don't know how to show respect, there's no point in keeping them around," Jiang Chen said indifferently.
Upon hearing Jiang Chen's words, everyone was once again stunned, especially the young man's family of three. They had just been so arrogant and now were terrified to the core.
"Alright, they offended Mr. Jiang; indeed, keeping them around is pointless," Lin Rumei hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded.
Her words were the last straw that broke the camel's back for the young man's family. They knew Lin Rumei well enough; if she said so, she truly would take their lives.
They collapsed on the ground in fear, pleading with Lin Rumei for mercy, but this was not something she could decide.
"Jiang Chen, it was just a small misunderstanding earlier; can we let it go? Please don't be angry," Lin Jingzhu suddenly spoke up softly, pleading with Jiang Chen.
"Since Jingzhu says it's fine, then let's forget it. Their lives aren't worth much anyway; they can leave," Jiang Chen said casually. He could afford not to give face to others, but he still wanted to take care of Lin Jingzhu's feelings.
The young family of three, having narrowly escaped death, expressed their gratitude and withdrew.
"Mr. Jiang, let's just let this matter go. By the way, how did you come to Hong Kong Island?" Lin Rumei changed the subject.
"I came to have some fun," Jiang Chen replied casually.
"Then, Mr. Jiang, are you staying here tonight?" Lin Rumei asked again.
Jiang Chen nodded.
