Cheng Laoda suddenly stopped speaking, and the other two stared at him in confusion. Then Cheng Laoda lowered his voice and said, "I’ve noticed a young couple who are quite well-off. They both have cars, and while they may not be wealthy, they definitely have some savings. Are you brave enough to pull off a heist before we leave?" 0

Xiao Yao, who looked a bit pale, hesitated. Meanwhile, the burly Cheng Lao Er downed another shot of liquor, the alcohol fueling his boldness. "Come on, brother, you’re talking about money here. If we don’t get something before going home for the New Year, my sister-in-law will definitely give me a hard time. We need to score some cash so we can celebrate properly." 0

"I’ve actually thought about this," Cheng Laoda continued. "I checked out their place; they live on the sixth floor. The floors below are empty, and it’s not until the tenth floor that you find other residents. They don’t come back often either, and this neighborhood doesn’t even have any surveillance cameras. We..." Cheng Laoda was crafty as he laid out his plan. Fueled by liquor, the three men grew bolder and ultimately decided to go through with the robbery, agreeing to split the take evenly and leave the city for good afterward. 0

As their plan unfolded, Peng Ping’s muffled cries for help turned into whimpers that couldn’t escape her lips. Bound hand and foot, she was unable to struggle and could only squirm helplessly. 0

"Be good; we’re just here for money and don’t want to hurt anyone. Cooperate with us, and you’ll be fine. Otherwise, don’t blame us for being ruthless." A deep voice echoed in her ear as a cold metal object pressed against her neck, sending chills down Peng Ping’s spine. Fear paralyzed her; she dared not move. 0

Seeing that the woman beneath him was thoroughly frightened, Cheng Laoda withdrew his fruit knife with satisfaction. He directed his brother and Xiao Yao to start rummaging through the living room for valuables while he held onto the terrified woman. To his surprise, she was light despite her attractive figure—dressed in a short embroidered down jacket, a black skirt, and thigh-high leather boots—she was undeniably alluring. 0

Suddenly lifted by the man, Peng Ping let out a startled cry and struggled briefly before recalling his warning; she stopped resisting altogether, her bound hands pressed tightly against her chest while her legs instinctively closed together in defense. Thankfully, the man made no further moves but carried her into the bedroom and tossed her onto the bed. He touched her thighs encased in stockings several times before finally turning away. 0

The way he touched her felt entirely different from how her boss or husband flirted with her. Goosebumps rose all over her body as she contemplated how to resist if he attempted to assault her further but felt utterly powerless. Just then, she heard the sound of the door closing and finally breathed a sigh of relief. She thought about how her husband hadn’t returned yet and wondered if she would be harmed by these intruders. Her heart sank again... 0

If you worry about something happening, it becomes more likely to occur—that's Murphy's Law for you. Not long after, while rummaging through drawers in the living room, the three men suddenly heard knocking at the door. 0

"Jiang Jie," Peng Ping's husband had returned. After knocking several times without an answer, Jiang Jie began searching for his keys. His wife wore very little during winter since she moved from the office to the car to home without much exposure to cold air. She usually turned on the air conditioning in their bedroom beforehand so that when she got home, it would be comfortable; he figured she couldn’t hear him knocking. 0

Then Jiang Jie opened the door. Moments later, three men ambushed him from beside the door… 0
