Meanwhile, Fang Jing Shu had also made significant progress at work. Her boss, Sun Lili, greatly appreciated her capabilities and sense of responsibility, entrusting her with an important project and allowing her to lead a team.
This newlywed couple was reaching new heights in their respective fields, enhancing their professional development and boosting each other's confidence.
With promotions and bonuses coming in, Li Wenbo's parents were overjoyed and immediately decided to host a celebratory feast at home. Being warm-hearted and hospitable, they made a quick phone call, and soon relatives, friends, and neighbors filled their modest two-bedroom apartment to capacity.
Li Father, dressed in his slightly faded Tang suit, greeted the guests with a beaming smile. "Don't be shy! Today is a happy day—my son has been promoted, and my daughter-in-law has too! Let's all share in this joy!"
Mother Li was bustling around in the kitchen, occasionally poking her head out to urge Li Wenbo. "Wen Bo, hurry up and introduce your friends to your dad! Don't just chat among yourselves!"
Guests continued to arrive—relatives of Li Wenbo as well as his colleagues and friends. Chen Jianguo and Lin Xiaoxuan naturally showed up as well. As soon as they met, they began bickering playfully like a comedic duo, making everyone laugh.
"Oh look, it's Young Master Chen! What brings you out of your cozy haven today?" Lin Xiaoxuan couldn't resist teasing him upon seeing Chen Jianguo.
Chen Jianguo shot back without missing a beat: "Ah, Miss Lin is here too! I thought you were too busy counting your money to come to this humble gathering!"
"You!" Lin Xiaoxuan stomped her foot in frustration but found herself unable to retort.
Li Wenbo and Fang Jing Shu walked hand in hand, their faces radiant with happiness as they welcomed each arriving guest. Watching their parents bustling around for them filled Li Wenbo's heart with gratitude.
"Mom, Dad, thank you for everything," Fang Jing Shu said sincerely as she held Mother Li's hand.
"Silly child, what do you mean 'thank you'? We're just so happy that you've both been promoted!" Mother Li replied with a wide smile that smoothed out the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes.
Once everyone had arrived, Li Father raised his glass and said loudly: "Today we gather to celebrate our son and daughter-in-law's promotions! We also want to thank all our friends and family for their support and help over the years!"
Everyone raised their glasses in unison to celebrate this joyous occasion. As the drinks flowed freely, the atmosphere grew even more festive. Fueled by the spirits, Li Wenbo took the opportunity to express his gratitude towards Fang Jing Shu in front of everyone.
"Honestly, my promotion this time is largely thanks to Fang Jing Shu's quiet support and encouragement behind the scenes. She not only keeps our home organized so I can focus without worries but also often helps me sort through materials and offers valuable advice. Without her, I wouldn't be where I am today!" Li Wenbo gazed affectionately at Fang Jing Shu, his eyes slightly moist.
