Su Jin covered her face, staring at Lin Nuan Nuan in disbelief.
"You dare to hit me?"
Lin Nuan Nuan looked at her calmly. "That slap was for my heart."
"What do you mean?"
"The day I was diagnosed with heart disease last year, you were the one who accompanied me to the hospital." Lin Nuan Nuan spoke each word clearly. "You already knew about my condition."
Su Jin's expression changed.
"That's why you kept saying I was flirting with other men in front of Huo Jing Shen, because you knew my heart couldn't handle the stress."

"You think I don't know?" Lin Nuan Nuan sneered. "Why did my medical records end up online? Why were my test results photographed?"
"Did you arrange all of this, didn't you?"
Su Jin took a step back. "You're talking nonsense!"
"I'm not talking nonsense." Lin Nuan Nuan stepped forward. "You wanted to see me misunderstood by Huo Jing Shen again and again, to see me heartbroken time after time."
"Until my heart can no longer bear it."
Su Jin finally tore off her disguise and sneered, "So what if I did?"
"After all, you won't live much longer anyway."

Lin Nuan Nuan was caught off guard and fell backward.
Just when she thought she would hit the ground, a pair of strong arms caught her from behind.

Su Jin's face turned pale. "Jing Shen? How could you be here?"

"You had someone follow Nuan Nuan, didn't you?"

"And her medical records." Huo Jing Shen's gaze turned sharp. "You knew all along but kept it from me?"
Su Jin panicked. "Jing Shen, let me explain..."
"No need for explanations." Huo Jing Shen interrupted her. "I've already found out."
"Last year, when Nuan Nuan was hospitalized for the first time, you were the one by her side."
"The day the test results came out, you were also present."

Huo Jing Shen refused to leave. "I'm sorry, I was too foolish to be deceived by Su Jin for so long..."

"It is true." She turned to face him, looking directly into his eyes. "If you cared, why have you never noticed that I was taking heart medication?"
"If you cared, why did you think I was just being spoiled every time I said I felt unwell?"
"If you cared..." Her voice choked, "why was I waiting at the hospital for test results while you were having dinner with her?"
Huo Jing Shen was at a loss for words.
"Now that you know the truth, you want to make amends?" Lin Nuan Nuan laughed. "Huo Jing Shen, don’t you find yourself ridiculous?"
"Give me one chance..."
"There are no chances left." She pointed to her heart. "It no longer beats for you."
