Lin Mo and Su Yuqing successfully repelled the Mysterious Organization and obtained the Sealing Key, but before they could catch their breath, the mysterious space-time began to shake violently. The eerie green sky was gradually consumed by blackness, and cracks spread like spider webs, with strange lights spilling out as if to tear the entire world apart. The ground also began to fracture, with scorching magma erupting from the fissures, igniting everything around them in an instant.
"This is bad! We've triggered the Core Defense Mechanism here; this space-time is about to collapse!" Su Yuqing shouted anxiously, her voice sounding particularly small in the crumbling world.
Lin Mo tightly grasped Su Yuqing's hand, his gaze resolute. "Don't be afraid. I'm here. Let's find the time-space vortex and return to our original place." As he spoke, he channeled his Time-Space Power, trying to sense the location of the vortex. However, the chaotic energy around them constantly interfered, making it difficult for him to concentrate.
At that moment, the cracks in the ground widened, and the space around them twisted as if it were about to swallow them into an endless abyss. Lin Mo took a deep breath, forcing back his fatigue and pain, and pushed his Time-Space Power to its limits. Finally, amidst the chaos of time and space, he caught a familiar fluctuation—it was the direction of the time-space vortex.
"Follow me!" Lin Mo shouted, pulling Su Yuqing as they sprinted toward the vortex. Along the way, they had to dodge falling boulders and leap over rivers of molten lava. Every step was fraught with danger, but their hearts held only one belief—to return to their original time-space, seal the Gears, and save the world.
At last, they arrived at the time-space vortex. However, the energy turbulence surrounding it was too powerful, like invisible giant hands pushing them away again and again. Lin Mo looked at Su Yuqing with tenderness and determination in his eyes. "I'll charge in first and create a path for you. Wait for your moment to follow."
Before Su Yuqing could respond, Lin Mo dashed toward the vortex.
In that instant of entering the vortex, Lin Mo felt himself being torn apart by a tremendous force. But he gritted his teeth and summoned his indomitable will to carve out a brief passage with his Time-Space Power. "Hurry!" he shouted.
Su Yuqing rushed into the vortex without hesitation, joining Lin Mo. Inside the vortex, their consciousness became somewhat hazy, but they held onto each other's hands tightly. After what felt like an eternity, they finally returned to their original time-space.
Before they could catch their breath, they noticed that a group of Remnant Forces from the Mysterious Organization had gathered around the previous Time-Space Sealing Device. Upon seeing Lin Mo and Su Yuqing return, greed and malice gleamed in their eyes.
"Hand over the key!" one member of the Mysterious Organization growled menacingly.
Lin Mo shielded Su Yuqing behind him and coldly replied, "In your dreams! Today is your end." With that, he swung his Time-Space Longsword and charged at the enemies. Despite his exhaustion, Lin Mo's conviction filled him with strength. Each swing of his sword carried powerful time-space energy that made it difficult for enemies to approach.
Meanwhile, Su Yuqing searched for an opportunity to use the Sealing Key to re-seal the Gears. She noticed that the Mysterious Organization had set up Interference Runes around the Gears; these runes continuously released energy that hindered the sealing process. Su Yuqing knew she had to break these runes first in order to successfully seal the Gears.
She focused her mind and recalled various rune studies she had researched earlier, trying to find a way to dismantle them. As Lin Mo fought against their enemies, he gradually realized that these Remnant Forces were not particularly strong; they were merely causing him trouble through sheer numbers and frenzied attacks.
Lin Mo unleashed his Time Stasis skill, instantly slowing down their movements. Seizing this opportunity, he swiftly maneuvered among them and knocked them back one by one. Soon enough, the Remnant Forces of the Mysterious Organization were thrown into disarray and began fleeing in panic.
With the enemies dealt with, Su Yuqing finally discovered how to break the Interference Runes. Following a specific sequence, she touched each rune with her Sealing Key until they extinguished one by one. Then she inserted the Sealing Key into the core of the Gears and began reciting an ancient incantation.
As her chant echoed through the air, the Sealing Key emitted a brilliant light that enveloped the entire Gears. The Gears began to tremble violently as dangerous energy surged forth but was gradually suppressed by the light. Slowly but surely, the energy of the Gears was completely sealed away, restoring calmness to the surrounding time-space.
"We did it," Su Yuqing said wearily as she leaned against Lin Mo, her eyes filled with relief.
Lin Mo looked at her with a smile and said, "Yes, it's thanks to our teamwork. But our duty as guardians of time will never end; we must always remain vigilant."
Afterward, Lin Mo and Su Yuqing returned to the Archaeological Research Institute. They compiled their experiences into documents to share with other researchers so that more people could understand both the mysteries and dangers of time-space. At the same time, they continued exploring within this field to enhance their abilities in preparation for safeguarding temporal balance.
In days to come, new crises may arise; however, Lin Mo and Su Yuqing firmly believed that as long as they stood together—armed with courage, wisdom, and unwavering conviction—they would protect time-space from disaster's grasp. Their story would become a legend among Time Guardians for generations to come—an inspiration for all who strive for peace and stability across time itself.
