Lin Mo and Su Yuqing found themselves in a collapsing temporal zone, surrounded by the ever-expanding Time Rift that emanated a chilling pull, as if it sought to consume everything. Each crack flickered with eerie light, accompanied by waves of Time-Space Turbulence, threatening to draw them into an endless void at the slightest misstep.
Lin Mo tightly grasped Su Yuqing's hand, trying to find a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos. The Striation on his forehead resonated with the Time Crystal in his hand, casting a faint glow that barely illuminated a small area around them. "Don't be afraid; we will find a way out of here," Lin Mo reassured Su Yuqing, even though he knew their situation was dire.
As they struggled forward, Lin Mo suddenly sensed a familiar fluctuation. He halted, concentrating on the source of this energy. "Su Yuqing, I think I can feel an Energy Fluctuation similar to what we encountered in the ruins. The clue to solving the puzzle might be nearby!" Lin Mo exclaimed excitedly.
Following the direction of the fluctuation, they navigated through the darkness for what felt like an eternity until they finally discovered a faintly visible Ancient Building. This structure radiated a mysterious aura, surrounded by a thin Light Barrier that seemed to fend off the encroaching Time Rift.
"This place looks unusual; we should be cautious," Su Yuqing whispered. Lin Mo nodded in agreement as they carefully approached the building. When they reached the Light Barrier, they noticed it was etched with tiny symbols that glimmered softly, resembling the runes from the Book of Time and Space.
Lin Mo attempted to bring the Time Crystal closer to the Light Barrier. The crystal's glow reacted with the symbols on the barrier, and slowly, an opening began to form. They slipped through the gap and entered the Ancient Building. Inside, it was dim and silent; crystals hanging from the walls emitted a soft light that barely illuminated their path.
In the center of the hall stood a massive stone platform. Upon it lay a complex arrangement of Gears made up of numerous Metal Gears and crystal spheres, all inscribed with Mysterious Symbols. Lin Mo and Su Yuqing approached the platform, examining the Gears closely.
"This Gears seems designed to unlock the Time-Space Riddle, but how do we operate it?" Lin Mo furrowed his brow. Su Yuqing studied the symbols intently before her eyes lit up. "Lin Mo, look at how these symbols are arranged; they resemble a sequence we deciphered from the Book of Time and Space. Perhaps we can activate the Gears in this order."
Hope surged within Lin Mo as he followed Su Yuqing's lead, touching the symbols on the Gears in sequence with the Time Crystal. With each contact, the Gears began to vibrate gently, turning slowly as the crystal spheres shone brighter.
However, just as the Gears activated, the building shook violently. A swarm of Mechanical Puppets emerged from all directions; these puppets were crafted from black metal with glowing red eyes and wielded sharp weapons as they charged at Lin Mo and Su Yuqing.
"We've triggered the Core Defense Mechanism!" Lin Mo shouted as he quickly stashed away the Time Crystal and drew his Time-Space Longsword, readying himself for battle. Su Yuqing began sketching defensive runes beside him using her understanding of symbols to protect them both.
The Mechanical Puppets moved swiftly and coordinated their attacks from various angles, attempting to corner Lin Mo and Su Yuqing. Lin Mo swung his Time-Space Longsword; its blue glow flickered with each strike that sent several puppets reeling back. Yet there were too many puppets; he soon felt overwhelmed.
"Lin Mo, we can't keep this up; we need to find their weaknesses!" Su Yuqing shouted. While fending off attacks from the puppets, Lin Mo observed their movements closely. He noticed that when attacking, their joints would momentarily pause—those seemed to be their weak points.
"Attack their joints!" Lin Mo yelled to Su Yuqing. She nodded and concentrated her energy into small temporal whirlpools around them that surged toward the puppets' joints. These whirlpools possessed strong pulling forces that could temporarily immobilize them upon contact.
Seizing this opportunity, Lin Mo launched a more aggressive assault; he darted among the puppets like lightning, striking at their joints with his Time-Space Longsword. With their combined efforts, one by one, Mechanical Puppets fell defeated, collapsing into heaps of scrap metal.
Once they neutralized the puppet threat, Lin Mo and Su Yuqing redirected their focus back to the Gears. At this point, its rotation accelerated further as images began to materialize within one of the crystal spheres—visions from different timelines appeared: ancient wars, bustling cities, mysterious rituals...
"These images might hold clues to unraveling the Time-Space Riddle!" Su Yuqing said excitedly. They scrutinized each scene in search of useful information until Lin Mo spotted a familiar mountain peak among them—one they had visited during their previous adventures.
"Su Yuqing! Look at this mountain peak; we've been there! The clue to solving this puzzle might be hidden there," Lin Mo pointed at the image in excitement. Su Yuqing nodded in agreement: "You're right! Let's hurry over!"
Utilizing the power of their Time Crystal, Lin Mo and Su Yuqing opened a temporal passage leading to that mountain peak. They stepped into it and swiftly traversed through swirling time and space until they reemerged at its base.
The mountain still stood majestically before them but now bore signs of change in its surroundings. A mysterious aura filled what was once a tranquil valley; strange lights flickered on its rocky surface. Cautiously ascending along its path, Lin Mo and Su Yuqing remained vigilant not to overlook any clues.
As they climbed higher, they encountered bizarre phenomena: time would occasionally slow down abruptly as if everything around them had been frozen in place; other times illusory figures flitted through the valley as if engaged in some enigmatic activity.
"This place's temporal stability seems compromised; we need to be careful," Lin Mo warned. Su Yuqing nodded thoughtfully while scanning rocks and trees for any hints related to their Time-Space Riddle.
Finally reaching the summit of the mountain, they discovered an enormous stone tablet etched with countless symbols—these were different from those seen on both Gears and in the Book of Time and Space yet appeared interconnected in some profound way.
"These symbols seem to be the key to solving the riddle," Su Yuqing said. Lin Mo gazed at the symbols on the stone tablet, focusing intently as he tried to decipher their meanings. He realized that the arrangement of these symbols was incredibly complex, requiring knowledge from the Book of Time and Space and the experiences he had accumulated across various timelines.
Lin Mo and Su Yuqing began to study the symbols on the stone tablet carefully, discussing and experimenting with different interpretations. As time ticked away, beads of sweat formed on their foreheads, but they showed no signs of giving up.
After countless attempts, Lin Mo finally discovered a pattern among the symbols. Following this pattern, he infused the power of the Time Crystal into the symbols on the stone tablet. As the power flowed in, the tablet began to emit a dazzling light, revealing words and images within its glow.
These words and images unveiled the answer to the Time-Space Riddle and revealed how to unlock the true power of the Book of Time and Space. Lin Mo and Su Yuqing watched in excitement as they absorbed the information from the tablet, knowing they were one step closer to uncovering the secrets of the Book of Time and Space. However, they also understood that more challenges awaited them ahead. What dangers would they face before they could harness the power of the Book of Time and Space? Would the Mysterious Organization reappear to thwart their efforts?
