Tong Le walked around the Office Lobby, her gaze scanning each office computer as she tried to grasp the current business dealings of the company. She entered the Printing Room and flipped through some discarded documents on the table, glancing at the various Project Proposals. After years away from the workplace, many of the professional terms were now foreign to her. 0

At that moment, a young man strode into the Printing Room, looking no older than twenty. He had a strong scholarly air about him. Tong Le stepped aside as he prepared to photocopy a stack of documents. 0

She caught a glimpse of his name tag and said, "Jiang Zhichao? You must be one of the new employees. I noticed others don’t wear their name tags, but you keep yours on." 0

Jiang Zhichao lifted his eyelids and glanced at Tong Le before responding coldly, "You’re the boss’s wife—oh no, you should be the owner of this company. But you don’t seem to manage it; that’s left to Supervisor Ke." 0

Tong Le found Jiang Zhichao somewhat intriguing. Normally, they would exchange polite greetings, but he had chosen to speak his mind instead. 0

"Do you know me well?" she asked with interest. 0

He scoffed lightly, "Can’t you feel it? People in this company are gossiping about you, even openly discussing you. That Female Employee who bumped into you earlier did it on purpose; nobody respects you here." 0

Tong Le felt a slight twist in her heart. She was certainly aware of her precarious situation but hadn’t expected Jiang Zhichao to voice such blunt truths. Youthful and brash, he spoke without restraint. 0

Jiang Zhichao glanced at his name tag and shrugged nonchalantly. "I’ve only been with the company for five months, yet some people still can’t remember my name. I got tired of repeating it, so I just wear my name tag to shut them up." 0

Tong Le chuckled softly, "You have quite a unique personality." 0

She took Jiang Zhichao’s documents and turned to another printer. "Let me help you; we can finish this faster together." 0

Watching Tong Le work swiftly surprised Jiang Zhichao. Despite being a housewife, she was more efficient than many men he knew. 0

In just ten minutes, they completed what would have taken half an hour alone. 0

"Your speed is impressive," Jiang Zhichao remarked. "You’re quick with proofreading too—definitely faster than me." 0

Tong Le handed him the entire stack of documents. 0

He seemed about to say something but hesitated. 0

"How about we grab a cup of coffee in the break room? Since you’ve finished your work," Tong Le suggested. 0

He nodded in agreement. 0

Once in the break room, Tong Le took the initiative to brew coffee for both of them. "Did you want to say something earlier?" she asked. 0

Jiang Zhichao paused for a moment before responding, "Yeah, since I joined the company, you’re the first person who has offered to help me with work. Honestly, I really dislike the atmosphere here; it feels so devoid of humanity. The boss is an idiot too—everyone here is just a bunch of snobs." 0

Tong Le laughed lightly, "Is it appropriate for you to share such thoughts with me?" 0

Jiang Zhichao was completely unconcerned. After all, he had no intention of staying long; offending someone was just part of it. Moreover, there were many rumors about Si Li. They said she was unprofessional, leaving all the work to Ke Zong, and over time, everyone began to disregard her, thinking of her as nothing more than a housewife. 0

Tong Le nodded silently. As she had expected, Ke Wenjie must have been spreading negative comments about her in Si Li again. Eventually, everyone naturally excluded her identity from Si Li, causing all the employees to fail to recognize her as the legitimate boss. 0

This was Ke Wenjie’s tactic; he excelled at boiling frogs in warm water. 0

Tong Le asked, “So after meeting me today, do you still think I’m just a housewife?” 0

Jiang Zhichao shook his head. “I think you’re more suited for the workplace.” 0

Tong Le handed him the brewed coffee. “Thank you for telling me this.” 0

As she turned to leave, Jiang Zhichao hurriedly called out, “Actually, my cold attitude towards you earlier was because you’re Ke Zong’s wife. I really dislike Ke Zong; I think he’s a hypocrite. Anyway, I don’t plan on staying here long either. This company only values employees who know how to flatter; they don’t care about real ability.” 0

Tong Le turned back. At that moment, she felt she had found a suitable ally. 0

Initially, she had intended to come to the company to get a feel for things and understand the current situation. She planned to secretly regain control of the company, so she needed to personally investigate. 0

Tong Le spoke up, “Do you think Ke Wenjie is a hypocrite? Why do you think that? You’ve only been here for five months; how can you see through something that took me seven years?” 0

Jiang Zhichao furrowed his brow slightly, contemplating Tong Le’s words carefully. 0

Tong Le continued, “Ke Wenjie has always been hypocritical. Otherwise, who do you think is responsible for my poor reputation in the company?” 0

Jiang Zhichao looked puzzled and tentatively asked, “Even though I’m a bit confused right now, can I ask if you know Lan Qingqing?” 0
