Lan Qingqing followed the instructions and brought Tong Le and Jiang Zhichao into the office. Looking at Jiang Zhichao's face, she recalled the incident at the food court across from the company, where he had splashed soup all over her. She felt displeased, instinctively twitching her lips in annoyance. What bothered her even more was that Tong Le was working on a project proposal with Jiang Zhichao. 0

Tong Le and Jiang Zhichao stood in front of the office desk while Ke Wenjie was bent over, reviewing the project proposal they had submitted. Meanwhile, Lan Qingqing busied herself making tea for everyone. 0

Ke Wenjie looked serious as he raised his head and addressed Jiang Zhichao, "Tong Le is new here and not familiar with the company yet, so this project proposal was done by you?" 0

Jiang Zhichao quickly shook his head and waved his hands. "No, it was Sister Tong who did it. I just helped out with some copying and checking the materials." 0

Ke Wenjie looked at Tong Le with some surprise. He knew that since he had met her, she had always been diligent and eager to learn, consistently ranking at the top in every exam. If he hadn't been so eager to marry her after graduation, she would likely have continued her studies instead of settling down. 0

He also remembered clearly that when he first took over Tongshan Real Estate a few years ago, there were many things he was unfamiliar with. If it hadn't been for Tong Le's help in strategizing and networking behind the scenes, he wouldn't have managed so smoothly. 0

He admitted that Tong Le was exceptional, but deep down, he didn't want her to shine too brightly. In a household where both partners were equally outstanding, stability would be hard to maintain. Moreover, he felt he needed to keep Tong Le under control to preserve their current wealth and status. 0

He appreciated what Tong Le brought to his career and assured himself that as long as she stayed behind him obediently, he could always provide for her. However, she had to listen to him. 0

Ke Wenjie smiled slightly at Tong Le. Although they were married, this was still a workplace where roles and rules needed to be respected. 0

"The proposal is good; it has creativity and highlights," Ke Wenjie said. "But since you're not officially employed yet, if I submit this proposal to Zong Group, it can only go out under my name and Jiang Zhichao's." 0

Before Tong Le could speak up, Jiang Zhichao immediately interjected on her behalf. "Then let's get her employment paperwork sorted out now, Ke Zong! This proposal was planned entirely by Sister Tong; it has nothing to do with me." 0

Ke Wenjie was very displeased with Jiang Zhichao's reaction. He had never seen such a clueless person in the workplace. Clearly, he was giving Jiang Zhichao an opportunity, yet this fool didn't appreciate it? 0

Tong Le spoke up calmly. "This isn't necessarily tied to employment paperwork, is it? Besides, honey, you forgot that during my senior year in college, my dad already handled my employment paperwork for me. Who do you think has been paying for my social security and health insurance all these years? I've always been on the company's roster as a secretary." 0

Ke Wenjie was taken aback; he had indeed forgotten about that detail. He also realized that this company bore the Tong surname, not his own. Just because he had occupied the CEO position for three years didn't mean the company belonged solely to him. 0

As these thoughts crossed his mind, a hint of unwillingness bubbled up inside him. 0

"I admit I forgot about your position," Ke Wenjie said finally. "However, even if you did create the proposal alone, it can't be submitted under your name to Zong Group. A housewife who has been at home for three years shouldn't be interfacing with such a large project; others will think Tongshan Real Estate is unprofessional." 0

Jiang Zhichao wanted to argue further on behalf of Tong Le, but she couldn't be bothered to debate any longer. She shrugged casually. "Whatever; this project is for Tongshan Real Estate anyway. It doesn't matter if it's under your name or mine." 0

Ke Wenjie found this response somewhat satisfactory; the irritation that had flared up inside him began to subside due to Tong Le's concession. 0

Tong Le noticed Ke Wenjie's small-mindedness and anxiety—those hidden calculations beneath his subtle expressions were all too clear to her after seven years together. She wasn't worried at all because this proposal was merely superficial; how it would be implemented and the specific data involved would still rely on her preparation. She didn't believe Ke Wenjie could keep her hidden away forever. 0

Ke Wenjie continued to flip through the Project Proposal and asked, "The data on here, you found it online, right? No one else from Si Li was this meticulous." 0

Tong Le replied, "No, this data isn't available online. This project is about revitalizing the old business district, right? I heard about this area eight or nine years ago when Zong Group collaborated with us at Tongshan Real Estate. Back then, I often accompanied my dad to work late. For this project, he revised it over and over again, and I helped him take notes and print documents." 0

Tong Le pointed to her head, indicating that all the information was stored there. 0

Ke Wenjie was taken aback, as were Jiang Zhichao and Lan Qingqing. 0

Jiang Zhichao exclaimed in surprise, "You still remember things from eight or nine years ago?" 0

Tong Le nodded. "Back then, my memory wasn't great. I always had to run around with my parents to help them remember important details." 0

It was strange; her memory was indeed better than average, yet she couldn't recall Zong Zeyu, her lifesaver. Even though she had only briefly opened her eyes during that fire to catch a glimpse of his face, it shouldn't have led to her later confusing gratitude for love. 0

After pondering for a moment, Ke Wenjie said, "You all can leave for now. I'll send this document to Zong Group later and see how they respond." 0
