Tong Le and Jiang Zhichao stepped out of the office, with Lan Qingqing hurriedly following behind.

Tong Le smiled and replied, "If Ke Jie insists on not adding my name later, then you can do it under your name. You better be ready!"

After returning to his workstation, Lan Qingqing pulled Tong Le toward the conference room. The room had already been cleaned by the cleaning staff. Noticing the empty bowl on the table, Lan Qingqing exclaimed, "You drank it all? You didn’t leave me any! I guess my rib soup was just too good!"
Tong Le forced a smile, feeling nauseated inside; no one could pretend better than Lan Qingqing.
They sat facing each other, and Lan Qingqing asked curiously, "Did your dad arrange for you to have a position in the family business while he was still around?"
Tong Le nodded, "Yes, it was arranged at the highest level. This way I can access my retirement funds earlier."
She spoke casually, knowing that at this moment, Lan Qingqing must be seething with jealousy.
Lan Qingqing looked at her with envy and said, "Wow, even though your parents left early, they left you a fortune that’s enough for your whole life."
Tong Le feigned modesty, "Well, sort of. Now everything is managed by Jie. I’m not really clear on how many assets are arranged; I’ve left it all to him."
Lan Qingqing blinked and asked, "Lele, why did you suddenly decide to come to work? Being a rich wife at home is so comfortable; why put yourself through this?"
Tong Le laughed and said, "It’s for the baby! The doctor said I need to exercise more so that the baby can be healthy. Staying at home would just make me feel sick."
Lan Qingqing nodded thoughtfully. "Well, I still think you’d be better off resting at home. But since you like it this way, I’ll go along with you."
Tong Le then recalled something and asked, "Did you manage to get any information? What did Ke Jie say? Is there anything going on between him and Amy?"
Lan Qingqing pretended to be casual and replied, "Oh come on, you’re overthinking it! I hinted around a bit—Jie and that Amy have nothing going on. You can rest easy; you’re just worrying too much."
Tong Le responded confidently, "Well then, I also believe Jie isn’t the type to juggle two women. Even if there are cheap women trying to seduce him outside, his heart has always been with me. He’s told me before that no matter how alluring other women might be, he wouldn’t divorce me for a third party. He even said those women who tried to seduce him are just tools—he uses them but doesn’t develop real feelings."
Tong Le deliberately displayed a smug expression as she spoke these heavily implied words.
Lan Qingqing smiled on the surface but felt turmoil inside; she genuinely feared that she was merely a plaything for Ke Jie. Although he had reassured her that he would say many sweet things to keep Tong Le at ease, hearing those words relayed back made her anxious. After all, they were legally married while she was not!
Thinking about this made her even angrier—why should Tong Le have more than her? Clearly, Ke Jie loved her more! Why should she be the one in the shadows?
As Lan Qingqing sank deeper into her thoughts, Tong Le continued her subtle attacks.
Tong Le reached out and grabbed Lan Qingqing's wrist, whispering, "Lan Qingqing, do you know why I'm so afraid of Jie cheating?"
Lan Qingqing followed up, "Why? Are you afraid he won't love you anymore and will divorce you? Didn't you just say he wouldn't divorce you?"
Tong Le shook her head, feigning sincerity. "It's because Jie now completely controls the family's assets. To be honest, I'm quite scared that Jie might not want me anymore. If he really divorces me for someone else, I might leave this house with nothing. You saw it earlier; Jie is desperately trying to secure the project with Zong Shiyan Tuan. The reason he's putting in so much effort is that once the project is completed, it could sustain Tongshan Real Estate for a long time. In just a short while, the company could be worth tens of billions. That's terrifying."
Hearing "tens of billions," Lan Qingqing's eyes widened. She knew that Ke Jie had control over the entire Tong Family but hadn't realized that the future value of the Tong Family would be so high!
Given this situation, she really couldn't afford to let go of Ke Jie. If in the future she couldn't entice Zong Jin, being tied to Ke Jie for life wouldn't be too bad either.
Tong Le continued, "The business at home is growing more and more, and Jie's development is also on the rise. I used to not have such a strong possessiveness over him, but as the company expands, you have to keep a closer eye on things."
Lan Qingqing nodded eagerly. "That's right! You should keep an eye on him! From now on, I'll help you watch him!"
She glanced at her phone and said nervously, "I have to get back to the company now; I still need to clock out. I wonder if that damn leader of mine is back yet."
