No matter how fierce the bravado coming from Sun Hu was, Zong Jin remained unfazed. Standing beside him, Zong Zeyu watched Sun Hu like a spectator at a circus, amused by his antics in front of them. Sun Hu waved his business card, signaling to Zong Jin that he would definitely be coming for money from the Zong Group in the future. After that, he left the bar with a group of his underlings. 0

As the bar returned to normalcy, Zong Jin glanced at Dao Wen. He was somewhat surprised to see that, despite the chaotic scene, Dao Wen showed no signs of panic; instead, she appeared remarkably composed, almost as if she were not a typical woman at all. 0

Dao Wen approached Zong Jin and thanked him for interrupting his evening and for his assistance. However, she insisted that when it came to repaying her debts, there was no need for him to worry; she would find a way to handle the money herself and apologized for causing him trouble. 0

Dao Wen maintained her poise throughout the ordeal, even after a gang had vandalized her doorstep. Zong Jin felt an inexplicable sense of frustration; he had expected things to unfold differently—he thought Dao Wen would express her gratitude or reveal a more vulnerable side of herself as a woman. It turned out he had overthought it. 0

Zong Jin spoke up, acknowledging that he had already committed to helping her with her debts. Since that was the case, the remaining debt issues were now between them. 0

Dao Wen raised an eyebrow slightly. "So, does this mean you are definitely going to help me resolve this trouble? How should I express my gratitude? What are your conditions for assisting me?" 0

Zong Jin smiled faintly. "Just get some rest early tonight." 0

With that, he signaled to Zong Zeyu, and the two brothers helped their drunken friends—Fan Qinghua, Tong Le, and Tian Ling—leave the bar together. 0

Dao Wen accompanied them to their cars and watched as the two vehicles drove away from the street corner. Zhou Zishuo and Zhou Ting followed closely behind her, both siblings still appearing tense. 0

Turning around, Dao Wen looked at the youthful faces of Zhou Zishuo and Zhou Ting. Even though Zhou Zishuo was already of age this year and Zhou Ting was still quite young, in her eyes, they were both like Tong Le—naive kids who had just started facing the harsh realities of life; they were her dear brother and sister. 0

Feigning a relaxed demeanor, Dao Wen opened her arms wide. "Come on now, let’s head back; we can rest early tonight." 0

She wrapped one arm around Zhou Zishuo and the other around Zhou Ting as she led them back toward the store. 0

Suddenly, Zhou Zishuo stopped in his tracks and turned seriously to face Dao Wen. "Sister, why don’t I go find Sun Hu right now and make it clear that I’m the one who owes him money—not you or that so-called Zong Boss! It’s my own fault for being unsuccessful in my business venture; I don’t want to drag you down any further! You’ve already helped me fill so many holes; I can’t keep being a burden like a leech! If necessary, I’ll confront Sun Hu myself so he won’t dare come after you again!" 0

As he spoke more passionately, Zhou Zishuo grew increasingly self-reproachful; he wished he could slap himself hard enough to alleviate Dao Wen's worries. 0

Looking at the earnestness in Zhou Zishuo's eyes—his freshly shaved head reminding her of their older brother Zhou Feng—she couldn’t help but think how much they resembled each other. Both brothers shared a strong sense of righteousness; while Zhou Feng exuded a military aura filled with integrity, Zhou Zishuo was heading in that same direction. 0

With his neat buzz cut, clean wheat-colored skin, thick eyebrows framing bright eyes, and an indomitable spirit, Dao Wen felt grateful that Zhou Zishuo was such an upright and brave young man. Yet she also feared for him; she worried that he might follow in Zhou Feng's footsteps—sacrificing everything for justice or national duty. 0

In her eyes, Zhou Zishuo was still just a big boy—the one who often trailed behind their brother Zhou Feng. 0
