In the evening, at the Zong Group.
Tong Le was peacefully asleep in Zong Zeyu's office, wrapped in a pink blanket that Zong Zeyu had specially prepared for her. At first, Tong Le was adamant about not sleeping, while Zong Zeyu deliberately delayed her from signing the documents. Tong Le sat stiffly on the sofa, and Zong Zeyu occupied himself with work at his desk. Eventually, she dozed off on her own.
After Tong Le fell asleep, whenever an employee came into the office, Zong Zeyu would handle matters in the adjacent conference room. It wasn't until Zong Jin entered that things changed.
Seeing Tong Le sleeping soundly, Zong Jin walked lightly and sat across from Zong Zeyu at the desk. He whispered, "Aren't you worried about what the employees will say? Tong Le has been in your office for so long without coming out; people will talk."
Zong Zeyu shrugged it off. "I couldn't care less. Let the whole company gossip; I'm curious to see how Ke Jie will react."
His gaze fell on the sofa as he watched Tong Le, his heart aching for her. She had suffered from Ke Jie’s infidelity, and now she was being talked about by their own company's employees. Everyone knew about Ke Jie’s betrayal, even to the point of involving Tong Le's close friend, yet everyone kept it from her, secretly enjoying her misfortune.
Zong Zeyu chuckled helplessly. This is how society works—supporting the strong while bullying the weak. In the face of absolute power and status, public order and morality become jokes.
He spoke seriously, "Ke Jie has put seven green hats on Tong Le, making it impossible for her to hold her head high in her own company. I'm merely returning the favor; I want Ke Jie to feel what it's like to have a woman he discarded treated like a treasure by someone like me. What will he think of this stark contrast? Let him wear a green hat too."
Zong Zeyu's smile turned cold. "If someone does something wrong but doesn't face consequences, they will continue to make the same mistakes."
Zong Jin held a different view. "That's someone else's business. If you want to treat Tong Le well, I won't stop you, but there's no need for you to take revenge on Ke Jie; I think that's completely unnecessary."
Zong Zeyu replied firmly, "The pain that Ke Jie has caused Tong Le is something I want him to experience again. I regret not intervening in Tong Le's marriage earlier. My woman shouldn't have to endure such suffering and torment."
Zong Jin sighed and shook his head. "You're too stubborn; I can't control you."
Zong Zeyu casually remarked, "And you're not stubborn? Look at how much your sister-in-law has endured; are you going to continue living like a widow?"
Zong Jin glared at him. "Watch your mouth! I'm your brother!"
Zong Zeyu made a shushing gesture towards him. "Keep it down! If you wake Tong Le up, I won't recognize you as my brother anymore."
He stood up and walked around the desk. Zong Jin grumbled unhappily, "All you see now is Tong Le!"
Zong Zeyu crouched beside Tong Le and tucked in her blanket. He gazed at her sleeping face with delight and said reassuringly, "From now on, my eyes will only be on her. Once we have children, my focus will still be solely on her."
Zong Jin frowned in confusion. "I thought you were going to say that once you have kids, your attention would be divided between her and them."
Zong Zeyu's gaze remained fixed on Tong Le's face as he smiled gently and whispered, "The kids can be raised by you and Mom; I want to travel around the world with my wife."
Zong Jin felt like giving Zong Zeyu a couple of punches; this top-tier love-struck fool was just too much.
Zong Jin ignored Zong Zeyu and took out his phone, opening the WeChat conversation with Dao Wen. He felt a bit anxious that Dao Wen hadn’t replied to the message he sent at eight in the morning.
Turning to Zong Zeyu, he asked, “Do you think that if someone doesn’t reply all day, it means they dislike the other person?”
Zong Zeyu stood up and said, “Dao Wen hasn’t replied to you yet?”
Zong Jin felt awkward. “I didn’t say it was her.”
Zong Zeyu walked over to Zong Jin and directly picked up his phone, making a voice call to Dao Wen.
