After completing all the necessary procedures, Jin Feng held the documents in her hand, preparing to go to other departments to collect work supplies and uniforms. She could hardly contain her excitement and was about to call her daughter to share the good news when an unfamiliar number flashed on her phone.
When she answered, a familiar voice came through—Zhang Huizhi.
"Jin Feng! You really are something! Ke Wei Qiang just got sent to prison, and you’re already making your escape? You’re even more ungrateful than I imagined!"
Jin Feng knew she had to face this day eventually. She replied, "So, what’s the purpose of your call? I’m quite self-aware; I know that my staying with you was thanks to Ke Wei Qiang. Now that he’s gone, is it wrong for me to leave that place? And whether or not I’m ungrateful is not for you to judge. I will be taking Zi Meng to visit Ke Wei Qiang; that’s between him and me."
Zhang Huizhi shouted back, "If Ke Wei Qiang knew what kind of person you are, he’d think he was blind! I warn you, Jin Feng, before I sue you, you better return that piece of land in the countryside! Otherwise, I’ll make sure you and your daughter end up in prison too! You can reunite with Ke Wei Qiang’s family of three!"
Jin Feng’s temper flared. "How dare you! Try touching my daughter and see what happens! I’ll fight you to the end!"
Zhang Huizhi yelled, "Return the land! That belongs to the Ke Family! It has nothing to do with you!"
Jin Feng hung up the phone, not wanting to engage further with Zhang Huizhi. The land that Ke Wei Qiang had given her was a gift; they had signed an agreement. Why should she return it to Zhang Huizhi?
Continuing down the corridor, her gaze fell upon a familiar figure—Ke Wenjie. Jin Feng slowed her pace and hid her face behind the papers, trying not to be noticed.
She followed Ke Wenjie’s trail until they reached the entrance of the Office Lobby. There, she saw him searching for something in the hall.
Inside the lobby, Ke Wenjie was asking everyone if Tong Le was around. He had gone to Tongshan Real Estate early that morning, but the people at the company said Tong Le was at Zong Group today.
Ke Wenjie drove over to Zong Group; he needed to placate Tong Le or their marriage would surely fall apart. His plan was simple: if soft tactics didn’t work, he would resort to a mix of soft and hard approaches.
Since Tong Le was at Zong Group now, he decided to take advantage of the situation and create a scene there! He wanted everyone to know how deeply Tong Le’s infidelity hurt him. As a man who loved his wife dearly, he didn’t harbor hatred towards Tong Le; in fact, he could endure the humiliation of being cheated on for her sake.
He intended to use his humble image as a contrast to highlight how despicable Tong Le truly was, thereby threatening her and putting her on a moral pedestal!
These ideas had been concocted during his discussion with Lan Qingqing under the covers last night. Lan Qingqing also hoped for Tong Le's public disgrace; she couldn’t bear seeing her good friend rise above her one day while leaving her behind.
As Lan Qingqing entered the Office Lobby, she felt immensely pleased watching Ke Wenjie flounder like a headless chicken while asking about Tong Le's whereabouts; that pitiful man’s image was truly unforgettable.
Lan Qingqing had originally planned to meet Hou Yi for lunch today but thought about how there would surely be a good show at Si Li this morning. She suddenly had a little idea—she wanted Hou Yi to come see for himself at Zong Group and witness Tong Le's embarrassing moment firsthand.

Settling into her workstation, she sent a message to Hou Yi: "Where are you right now?"
Hou Yi replied quickly, saying there was a project to discuss near your company.

Hou Yi responded, "Is it that thrilling? Then I'll come find you shortly; you can swipe your card to let me upstairs."
At that moment, Tong Le and Zong Zeyu appeared at the elevator entrance in the hallway. Zong Zeyu led the way, with Tong Le following behind. As they passed through the Office Lobby, Ke Wenjie spotted Tong Le and shouted with a quivering voice, "Wife! Wife! Tong Le!"
Tong Le was not surprised by this scene at all, nor was Zong Zeyu; in fact, they had been waiting for Ke Wenjie to show up. Today's confrontation was inevitable; everyone had come prepared. However, who would win or lose remained uncertain.
As Tong Le entered the Office Lobby, her willingness to confront him face-to-face indicated that she was ready for this moment. If Ke Wenjie resorted to underhanded tactics today, she would present all the evidence she had collected regarding his infidelities and embezzlement right in front of him, as well as for all the onlookers to see.
In recent days, both her and Zong Zeyu's reputations had suffered significantly; someone had to take responsibility for this situation, and someone needed to clarify everything.
Tong Le certainly wasn't afraid of losing face; she believed she had already lost all dignity long ago.
The moment Tong Le stepped into the Office Lobby, several employees discreetly took out their phones to record the unfolding drama.
Ke Wenjie rushed towards Tong Le almost in a sprint. Just as he was about to get emotional and shed tears, Tong Le swiftly slapped him across the face.
With a cold gaze, Tong Le spoke up, "You still have the face to come find me, murderer?"
