As the meeting room emptied, only Zong Zeyu and Tong Le remained. Zong Zeyu, dressed in a deep blue suit, stood at the front of the room while Tong Le stood below, gazing up at him.
She sighed and spoke, "Now I’ve become a complete pauper—penniless, without a house, a company, or savings. I have nothing left."
Zong Zeyu replied, "This is the only way for Ke Wenjie to give up his fantasies and agree to divorce you."
Tong Le took a deep breath. "I hope so."
Zong Zeyu signaled to the secretary outside to bring Ke Wenjie upstairs for a meeting.
Minutes later, Ke Wenjie entered the conference room. Upon seeing Tong Le inside, he rushed toward her, attempting to take her away.
Zong Zeyu interrupted him, reminding, "You’d better take a look at what’s on that screen."
Ke Wenjie turned to see the bold letters on the electronic screen announcing the acquisition of Tongshan Real Estate. He paused for a moment before turning back to Tong Le to confirm, "You sold Tongshan Real Estate? Huh?"
Tong Le remained silent as Zong Zeyu stepped in front of her, shielding her from Ke Wenjie.
Ke Wenjie confronted Zong Zeyu angrily. "Zong Zeyu, you slept with my wife! I haven’t settled that score with you yet! Now you want to acquire Tongshan Real Estate? What’s your game?"
He shouted at Tong Le, "You better explain yourself! You sold the company without my consent! How much did you sell it for, Tong Le?"
Zong Zeyu was irritated by the noise in his ear and raised his hand as if to deal with the audacious Ke Wenjie, but Tong Le stopped him.
She stepped around Zong Zeyu and decided it was time to face Ke Wenjie herself.
Calmly, she said, "Whether Tongshan Real Estate is sold or not, who it’s sold to, and for how much has nothing to do with you! You’d better understand your position—you are neither a shareholder nor a legal representative. Tongshan Real Estate is premarital property created by my parents; you have no say in it!"
Ke Wenjie was furious. "I’m asking how much you sold the company for!"
Tong Le smiled slightly. "Zero dollars! Not only that, but I also plan to borrow money to start a business. I’m not just broke; I’m about to be in debt up to my ears! Ke Wenjie, didn’t you say you loved me? Then it shouldn’t be too much to ask for you to help me pay off this debt!"
Ke Wenjie was beside himself with rage. "Are you crazy? You sold the company for zero dollars? That’s illegal! It’s against regulations!"
Nearby, Zong Zeyu smirked coldly. When it came to legality, no one understood the law better than his Legal Department at Zong Group.
Ke Wenjie's eyes narrowed as he glanced between Tong Le and Zong Zeyu. He realized that this game was completely over; he could no longer win. Tong Le had deliberately chosen this moment to sell the company and even planned to borrow money to start anew—clearly intending to drag him down with her and force him into an immediate divorce! Otherwise, if he delayed even one more day, given Tong Le and Zong Zeyu's tactics, he would end up burdened with shared debts!
Feeling increasingly anxious, Ke Wenjie heard Tong Le's pointed reminder: "Have you considered divorce yet?"
He lifted his head and tentatively asked, "If I agree to the divorce, what benefits will you give me?"
Tong Le couldn't help but laugh. How ridiculous that Ke Wenjie was actually negotiating terms! She needed to thoroughly disgust this shameless Ke Wenjie!
Tong Le spoke up, "Of course, I'm offering you a tremendous benefit. Once you divorce me, won't that complete your fairy tale with Lan Qingqing? From then on, you two won't have to sneak around anymore. Isn't that right?"
Tong Le's gaze fell on Ke Wenjie's neck, and she clicked her tongue repeatedly. "Look at you two, all fired up! You really should take care of yourselves."
Ke Wenjie clenched his fists, wishing he could smash Tong Le's head in!
Beside them, Zong Zeyu spoke coldly, "What do you want?"
