"Not at all," Tong Le replied casually.
"Are you working late tonight?" Zong Zeyu continued.
"Yeah," Tong Le responded.
Zong Zeyu jokingly asked, "Can you give me the proposal before three this afternoon?"
"Sure," Tong Le answered without hesitation.
Zong Zeyu looked at Tong Le with a helpless expression, realizing that even he didn’t know what he was saying, while Tong Le was responding effortlessly.
"Then let’s go get the marriage certificate tomorrow," Zong Zeyu said, still joking.
Tong Le was completely lost in thought, his mind focused solely on the numbers on the bill. "Alright."
After a brief pause of five seconds, Tong Le suddenly looked up.
Zong Zeyu, holding his phone seriously, reminded him, "I just recorded that. We’re getting the certificate tomorrow."
Tong Le jumped up to grab the phone. "You’re kidding me!"
Zong Zeyu took a step back and gestured to Jin Zi Meng, "You can leave now."
Jin Zi Meng put down her calculator and quietly exited the office.
Once at her own desk, she sat in a daze for a while.
Jiang Zhichao from the adjacent desk pushed a cup of iced milk tea toward Jin Zi Meng and said, "Xiao Zong Zong sent these. Everyone gets one. Now that Xiao Zong Zong is here to save the day, I can finally breathe."
Jin Zi Meng held the milk tea cup with both hands, her mind filled with thoughts of Zong Zeyu’s handsome face. She murmured, "Tong Le Jie is so lucky to be liked by someone like Xiao Zong Zong."
Jiang Zhichao looked at Jin Zi Meng with suspicion. "Wait a minute. Don’t tell me you girls all dream of a domineering CEO falling in love with you? Why do you only go for handsome and wealthy men? Are other men not worth considering?"
Jin Zi Meng turned her head to look at Jiang Zhichao, who appeared scholarly but had a cunning heart. She replied directly, "What else should we do? Don’t you guys also stare at tall beauties with slim waists? Are other girls not people?"
With that, Jin Zi Meng stood up and said, "I’m going to practice my dance in the conference room for the upcoming Annual Meeting of Zong Group. I want to meet more outstanding people!"
Jiang Zhichao watched Jin Zi Meng leave and couldn’t help but smirk. "You really know how to make comparisons; no wonder you’re a college student! Tch!"
In the office, Zong Zeyu forcibly pushed Tong Le onto the sofa. Concerned that Tong Le was tired, he sat down at the desk and began helping him with the accounts.
At that moment, the Office Lobby became lively once again. This time, it was Hou Yi.
With a few of his underlings in tow, Hou Yi brought along milk tea and pastries, ensuring that every employee in the Office Lobby received a share. He noticed that each person's desk had a cup of milk tea, and with his own cup added to the mix, it meant everyone had two cups of milk tea.
The expressions on the employees' faces were quite telling; it was clear they were nearing their limit. Hou Yi chuckled to himself, realizing someone had gotten there first.
He strode into the office, and as the door opened, an awkward encounter unfolded among the three of them. Yet, Hou Yi reveled in this tension-filled triangle. He entered the room holding a cup of milk tea—Tong Le's favorite flavor and sweetness.
Hou Yi placed the milk tea in front of Tong Le, his tone softer than ever. "How about we have lunch together?"
Inside the office, Zong Zeyu tapped his fingers on the desk.
Hou Yi glanced over at Zong Zeyu and teased, "Oh, there's someone else here too."
Zong Zeyu stood up and walked around the desk to stand in front of Hou Yi, pulling Tong Le behind him. The two men locked eyes, an unspoken tension crackling between them.
Tong Le sensed something was off and was about to speak when Zong Zeyu and Hou Yi exchanged fierce glares.
Zong Zeyu declared, "She is my woman."
Hou Yi countered, "She is my woman."
