Tong Le entered the Office Lobby alone. Inside the office, Zong Zeyu returned to his desk, while Wen prepared to follow Zong Jin to the adjacent office to discuss the Distillery. Just as Wen was about to leave the office, she felt something was off and turned back to Zong Zeyu, asking why Tong Le had to go to the Office Lobby. Wasn't she the one who feared gossip the most? 0

Zong Zeyu sat down but then stood up again, suddenly feeling worried. I should go check on her, he thought. However, when Zong Zeyu, Wen, and Zong Jin arrived at the Office Lobby, they searched for Tong Le but couldn’t find her anywhere within just five minutes. 0

Zong Zeyu’s anxiety grew. He called Tong Le’s phone, but there was no answer. They had agreed to meet at the Office Lobby, yet she was nowhere to be seen. He then contacted Wu Youyou, who was wandering around the building at that moment. “I just saw Tong Le,” she said. “She ran out of the building in a hurry. I have no idea where she went.” 0

Worried that something might have happened to Tong Le, Zong Zeyu turned and dashed into the elevator, heading straight for the first-floor lobby. As he sprinted toward the lobby entrance, outside the building, a small figure came rushing into the company grounds. 0

Zong Zeyu could see clearly that it was Tong Le, holding a large bouquet of Red Roses. From a distance, he noticed that she was carrying an enormous bunch of roses wrapped in simple paper; if she ran any faster, they might fly out of her arms. 0

Clearly, Tong Le had bought all the red roses from Si Lou Xia flower shop. Zong Zeyu stood frozen in place as he watched her rush back with the flowers. He didn’t understand her intentions at that moment, but he felt that Tong Le looked beautiful—more beautiful than the flowers in her arms and even more radiant than the sunlight outside. 0

A smile crept onto his face, a tender expression that seemed to say that after their divorce, Tong Le had transformed back into a little girl—the girl he had fallen in love with at first sight years ago—free from worldly burdens and past grievances. 0

She was simple and pure, just like back then when she stood on the school podium while he watched from below. On that day, she stood confidently before everyone, delivering her speech. He remembered being captivated by her at that moment and recalled that her name was Tong Le; he remembered having said there was a girl named Tong Le who would become his wife. 0

He had kept that promise for Seven Years. 0

Seven Years is neither long nor short—long enough for him to consider giving up multiple times but short enough for him to tell himself each time that perhaps there would still be a chance if he just waited a little longer. 0

Now, he finally saw the girl from Seven Years ago. 0

As reality collided with dreams, he watched Tong Le approach him with light and flowers. While she ran with her head down, she spotted Zong Zeyu standing in the lobby. She slammed on the brakes but didn’t anticipate that the floor had just been cleaned by a staff member and was slick and shiny. In an instant, she lost her balance and crashed into Zong Zeyu’s arms, sending the large bouquet of roses flying through the air before scattering all around them. 0

The roses fell like rain—petal by petal and stem by stem. 0

What she had intended as a surprise for Zong Zeyu now arrived at an awkward moment instead. 0

Tong Le stared in surprise as Zong Zeyu nervously held her arm. Their eyes met, and in that moment, it felt as if they were making up for the encounter that should have happened seven years ago. 0

Zong Zeyu thought that back then, he should have drawn back the blue curtain separating their hospital beds; he should have expressed his feelings. Tong Le wondered why, during the library incident all those years ago, she hadn’t awakened in Zong Zeyu’s embrace, even if it was just to open her eyes and catch a glimpse of him. 0

But it was good; it was not too late. 0

Breathing heavily, Tong Le placed her hands on her chest to calm her racing heart. Employees passing by paused to watch the sea of roses scattered around them, focusing on Tong Le and Zong Zeyu standing at the center. 0

Finally, Tong Le spoke up, steadying herself. “Zong Zeyu, I am free now.” 0

Zong Zeyu nodded. “Yes, I know.” 0

Tong Le smiled genuinely. “So, standing here before you, I am clean, I am free, I am independent and strong. I have died once and been reborn.” 0

Zong Zeyu’s gaze was filled with tenderness and understanding. “I know everything.” 0

Tong Le continued to smile, though her eyes were wet with tears. “So now, let me fulfill my promise. I have taken care of all my burdens and can finally stand before you with dignity under everyone’s gaze. Will you be with me? Will you be my boyfriend? I know I may not deserve you yet, but I want…” 0

Before she could finish her sentence, Zong Zeyu stepped forward, wrapped his arms around Tong Le, leaned down, and kissed her. 0

The regrets of seven years faded away; at this moment, everything felt complete. 0
