The next morning, at the airport, Tong Le and Dao Wen entered the terminal, followed closely by Zong Zeyu and Zong Jin, who were pushing Li Xiang's luggage.
Tong Le stopped and turned to them. "You two head to the company. Dao Wen and I will take care of the check-in, then we'll get ready for security. I'll keep you updated on our location."
Zong Zeyu couldn't relax. He had sent a bodyguard from home to accompany them, and due to flight restrictions, they could only buy tickets for the next day. To ensure Tong Le's safety, he had even used his connections to hire eight local security personnel from a well-known organization.
Tong Le felt that Zong Zeyu's concerns were unnecessary. Although there was war in that region, she and Dao Wen wouldn't be staying in the conflict zones; basic safety was assured as long as they avoided nighttime outings.
She took her luggage from Zong Zeyu's hands, and Dao Wen did the same with Zong Jin's.
Zong Zeyu instructed, "The people I've arranged to be with you will stay in contact with us here at home. As long as you're not at the hotel, you must remain within their line of sight. Do you understand?"
Tong Le nodded. "I understand. Don't worry; I'm not going on vacation. Once I meet Zhou Feng, we'll be on our way."
Zong Zeyu sighed and turned to Zong Jin with reluctance. "Can't you just attend that international conference yourself? Why do I have to go? Let's put group matters aside for now; you can handle external meetings. If you agree now, I'll arrange a private jet for today."
Zong Jin replied seriously, "Only you can attend this meeting. It has been in preparation for over six months. Don't forget our mother's instructions."
Zong Zeyu looked troubled. If it weren't for his official duties, he would have followed his wife without hesitation. Not even ten bodyguards could compare to being by her side.
Tong Le reassured him, "You can come after you're done with your work. I promise I won't wander off; I'll stay at the hotel when there's nothing urgent since I still need to handle work remotely."
Even though Zong Zeyu was still worried, he had to put his mind at ease. Reluctantly, he nodded. "Alright, once you meet them, contact me immediately."
As Tong Le and Zong Zeyu exchanged lingering words of concern, Dao Wen and Zong Jin remained silent throughout the interaction, creating a somewhat cold atmosphere.
Zong Jin simply smiled at Tong Le with a distant expression. "Safe travels; if you encounter any difficulties, just message me."
Dao Wen returned a similarly distant smile to Zong Jin but her words were cryptic: "Wait for my good news."
As Dao Wen and Tong Le pulled their luggage away, they gradually became blurred in the brothers' sight. Zong Zeyu watched Tong Le's retreating figure, tears almost welling up in his eyes; he hadn't felt such emotion even when he first parted from his mother as a child.
Zong Jin pondered silently, her brows furrowed together. What kind of good news was she referring to? Was it about something concerning her?
Without an answer, she turned to look at Zong Zeyu, who was blowing kisses toward Tong Le in the distance. What a ridiculous sight—a grown man acting so effeminately and shamelessly; it was as if he had completely transformed.
