The next day, Zhou Zishuo and Zhou Ting hurried to Dao Wen's house. As soon as they entered, Zhou Zishuo began searching the entire place for Zong Jin. His fists were clenched tightly, ready to unleash his anger the moment he saw Zong Jin. Unfortunately, Zong Jin was not there. 0

Dao Wen leaned against the wall and said softly, "Stop looking. He took me home last night and then went back. Even though we got our marriage certificate, we’re not living under the same roof yet. We need to find a suitable place first. I knew you would react this way, so I sent him home to avoid any conflict with my husband." 0

Dao Wen turned around and took the suitcase from Zhou Ting's hand. "So, did you see Zhou Feng? How did it go?" 0

Zhou Ting wore a dark expression, clearly upset. "My brother feels so unfamiliar to me now. He doesn’t even remember me or Zhou Zishuo, let alone our parents. He said he wants us to bring our parents over to meet him or take care of them there." 0

Dao Wen casually replied, "Why doesn’t he come back?" 0

Zhou Ting responded, "He said he can’t come back right now. I’m not sure why; it might be something with his wife. He just can’t see our parents at the moment." 0

Zhou Zishuo sat down heavily on the sofa, feeling frustrated. "It’s fine if he doesn’t recognize us; he’s not the same Zhou Feng anymore." 0

He looked up at Dao Wen and asked, "Why did you suddenly get married to Zong Jin? Why didn’t you ask us first? Is this some sort of revenge against my brother? Everything that happened is because of Yi; you shouldn’t gamble your happiness like this!" 0

The more Zhou Zishuo thought about it, the more annoyed he became. "Divorce! This marriage is too hasty; I don’t agree!" 0

Zhou Ting scoffed sarcastically, "You don’t agree? What does that matter? You didn’t agree when my brother got married and started a family over there either. Just because you don’t agree doesn’t mean he can’t get divorced! He doesn’t even recognize who you are anymore; who do you think you are to control this?" 0

Zhou Ting rolled her eyes. "I think it’s right for my sister to get married; at least Zong Jin is an outstanding man in every aspect—materially and morally—and he genuinely cares for my sister." 0

Zhou Zishuo was furious. "You don’t understand anything! Men are worthless!" 0

Dao Wen chuckled at that remark; there was some truth in it—men could be quite disappointing. 0

Dao Wen clarified, "This wasn’t a discussion with either of you. I have my reasons for marrying Zong Jin; it’s precisely for future happiness. Since men are often disappointing, I might as well choose one who is relatively better." 0

Zhou Ting chimed in, "Exactly! Zong Jin is much better than my brother. My brother has already moved on with his life; we shouldn’t let the past hold my sister back." 0

Zhou Zishuo scratched his head in frustration. He understood their points but still didn’t want Dao Wen to marry; it felt like losing something precious. 0

Dao Wen asked, "Did Zhou Feng say anything else?" 0

Zhou Ting glanced at Zhou Zishuo before admitting, "He mentioned giving us some money to help us live here in the country. But that money comes from Zhou Feng's wife—quite a lot actually—over ten million yuan when converted, meant to make up for those lost years." 0

Zhou Zishuo responded sternly, "We don’t want that money! I’ve already refused it in person! What do they take us for? Some poor relatives begging for money? Just because the woman’s family is wealthy doesn’t make them special!" 0

Dao Wen shook his head helplessly with a smile. 0

Zhou Ting added, "You may have refused it, but I didn’t. Before I came back, I called my brother and told him we would accept that money—not because we need it, but because I feel my sister’s youth and sacrifices over those years deserve some acknowledgment." 0

"I absolutely refuse! I don’t want money, especially not their money!" 0

Zhou Zishuo stood up, pointing an accusing finger at Zhou Ting. "What’s wrong with you? Who told you to ask for money? I’ve already said no, and so has Sister! We won’t take their money! Do you have any dignity left?" 0

Zhou Ting retorted passionately, "What right do you have to make decisions for me? And what right do you have to decide for Sister? Who do you think you are? You think that after a lifetime of hard work, you can repay the sacrifices Sister made back then? When Brother was gone, it was Sister who held this family together all those years! Can your few words settle that debt? You say I lack dignity? Dignity doesn’t pay the bills! Can it be eaten? If Brother is willing to give money, then I’ll take it! After all these years of taking care of our parents, and now with their retirement, he should contribute! I don’t care where he gets the money from—whether it’s from his current wife or his in-laws—it’s none of my business! I just need the money to live, to support Sister, and to take care of our parents! If you’re concerned about face, then don’t take your share of the money! Just leave me out of it!" 0

The living room fell silent as Zhou Ting silenced Zhou Zishuo with her words. 0

Dao Wen watched the scene unfold with a smile. At that moment, she thought that if she had a handful of sunflower seeds, it would make for an even better viewing experience. She felt that Zhou Ting had matured; at least she was far more composed than the hot-headed Zhou Zishuo. 0

With renewed vigor, Zhou Ting continued addressing Zhou Zishuo, "I’m resigning from Zong Group! Now that I have Brother’s financial support, I’m going abroad to study! In the past, I was afraid of being a burden on the family, which is why I didn’t continue my studies. But now that I’m free from financial pressure, I can focus on my education and live the life I want!" 0
