At this moment, Lan Qingqing let down her guard. She felt like a deflated balloon, completely drained of energy after a long day.

She cried as she glanced again at the direction where Tong Le's car had left. Why was it that she couldn't measure up to her? Watching Tong Le thrive while she struggled to hold onto her life felt unbearable. She had once triumphed over Tong Le, but now it seemed like luck was always on Tong Le's side.
Mo Kai Liang tried to remind her, "That's why we need to collaborate with someone like Tong Le, who has good fortune, right? Didn't you just discuss a plan with her? She agreed to cooperate with you, didn't she?"
Lan Qingqing forced a smile, feeling helpless. "What plan? She first gave me a hard time and then kept reminding me that I need her help now. Did you not see the way she looked at me? She was so high and mighty, crushing my dignity underfoot."
Mo Kai Liang thought for a moment and said, "Since you've reached this point, why not go along with her ideas? Tong Le has power and connections. If she wants to deal with Ke Wenjie, she doesn’t even need to lift a finger herself; her father, Zong Zeyu, will surely help! Let Zong Zeyu handle Ke Wenjie; it would be much easier."
He grasped Lan Qingqing's hand. "You should message Tong Le right now and tell her everything about your situation—your surgery, your stolen kidney, everything involving Ying Rong Xiao and Du Guangwei! She can definitely investigate some things!"
Lan Qingqing shook off Mo Kai Liang's hand and walked toward the car. "Why should I share all that? It’s my private matter! I came to find Tong Le to deal with Ke Wenjie. Since she also wants to get rid of him, let her handle it! We can just sit back and reap the benefits! Why should I expose my scars for her to mock me? Am I crazy? I just suffered humiliation from her; do I want more?"
Mo Kai Liang followed closely behind, trying to persuade her. "But we are truly powerless here! Just regarding the stolen kidney—are we really going to let that slide? If you want proof, you’d have to undergo another invasive procedure!"
The more he spoke, the more anxious he became. "Lan Qingqing, at this point, what does face matter? We need the truth! We want revenge!"
Lan Qingqing couldn’t absorb any of it; her mind was in turmoil.
Mo Kai Liang decided not to push further; he feared making Lan Qingqing dislike him even more. He understood well that he couldn’t comfort her.
So he made a decision: since they had already decided to seek Tong Le's help, they couldn’t keep hiding things.
Mo Kai Liang drove Lan Qingqing away from the area.
Unbeknownst to them, across the street, three black commercial vehicles were parked.
Inside one of the cars sat Hou Yi and Sun Hu.
Sun Hu leaned against the window for a while watching the drama unfold before turning to Hou Yi. "Brother, what do you think Lan Qingqing and Tong Le are discussing? Just looking at Lan Qingqing's face—one moment pale and the next green—it seems like she's been scolded quite a bit. Heh heh, watching these girls argue is quite entertaining."
Hou Yi had originally instructed Sun Hu to keep an eye on Zong Caishan but ended up observing Lan Qingqing and Tong Le instead. Seeing Lan Qingqing's behavior made him suspect that she had come to pledge allegiance to Tong Le.
Lying back in his seat with half-closed eyes, Hou Yi asked, "Has Zong Caishan come out yet?"
Sun Hu replied promptly, "Not yet; that guy is still inside. But our people are ready; as soon as we see him, we’ll move."
Meanwhile, inside another car,
Tong Le rested against Zong Zeyu's shoulder as she dozed off. Zong Zeyu dared not move his right arm at all while his left hand remained poised in mid-air, ready to support Tong Le's head at any moment.
Until the car reached home, Tong Le remained fast asleep, and Zong Zeyu had no intention of waking her. It was rare to see Tong Le sleeping so soundly, and he couldn’t bring himself to disturb her.
Zong Zeyu's entire arm felt numb, and just then, Tong Le's phone rang. In a flurry, Zong Zeyu tried to silence the ringtone, but it ended up waking Tong Le.
She sat up, her eyes still heavy with sleep. Turning to glance out the window, she realized they were home. Noticing the persistent ringing of her phone, she fished it out of her bag and saw an unfamiliar number.
Pressing the answer button, she heard Mo Kai Liang's voice on the other end. "Tong Le, hello, this is Mo Kai Liang."
Tong Le instantly became alert.
On the other end, Mo Kai Liang spoke in a hushed tone. "I'm currently in the bathroom and can only speak very quietly. I wanted to tell you something about Lan Qingqing."
