On the other side, at the hotel where the crew was staying, Jin Zi Meng stood by the window, looking down. There were always a few suspicious figures lurking nearby, but Tong Le and Zong Zeyu's people were firmly stationed here.
Jin Zi Meng couldn't help but feel a bit worried. She called Tong Le, and when the call connected, Tong Le immediately reassured her. "I was just about to call you. The police just informed me that they will be increasing personnel to guard your vicinity. They are concerned that someone might retaliate against you. Also, there has been some progress regarding your mother’s situation, but I can’t say too much for confidentiality reasons. Don’t worry too much."
Jin Zi Meng felt comforted. "Thank you, Tong Le Jie. With your words, I feel more at ease."
Tong Le sighed. "I have something particularly important to attend to tomorrow. Once this is handled, it shouldn't be long before Hua Rongxiao and Ke Wenjie fall."
Jin Zi Meng said nervously, "I don’t know what it is, but please be careful!"
The next day, Tong Le brought some items for children and went to Lan Qingqing and Mo Kai Liang's home.
Mo Kai Liang opened the door; the house was quiet.
Tong Le handed the items to Mo Kai Liang, who quietly gestured towards the bedroom. "Lan Qingqing has been live streaming all night and just fell asleep; the child is asleep too. They are both sleeping soundly. Should I wake her up?"
Tong Le shook her head. "I'm here to see you today."
Mo Kai Liang paused, unsure of her intentions.
He said cautiously, "Let me close the bedroom door; otherwise, our conversation might be overheard by those in the live stream."
Tong Le nodded and entered the room.
Mo Kai Liang poured warm water for Tong Le and politely said, "We have everything we need for the child; you’re being too kind."
Tong Le asked, "Last time I found an eye doctor for Lan Qingqing, but she hasn’t gone yet. Does she have any concerns? I also contacted a doctor from Domestic and International; the child's condition isn’t entirely hopeless."
A glimmer of hope sparked in Mo Kai Liang's eyes. "You’re willing to help us!"
Tong Le replied, "It’s not exactly that; think of it as helping myself. Besides, that child is truly innocent. If it weren't for Hua Rongxiao, the child wouldn’t have become a conjoined twin."
Mentioning Hua Rongxiao made Mo Kai Liang seethe with anger; he slammed his fist on the nearby sofa in frustration. "Hua Rongxiao and Ke Wenjie deserve to die!"
Tong Le seized the moment to ask, "If there were an opportunity right now to help the police take down Hua Rongxiao and Ke Wenjie, would you assist?"
Mo Kai Liang slowly raised his head. "Do you have a plan? Or does this involve Lan Qingqing?"
He shook his head vehemently. "Lan Qingqing can’t be involved. Even if I go out myself, she must not be part of it; she’s already suffered enough. She and I are alike—both pitiful souls. I can’t let her get dragged into this."
Tong Le spoke frankly, "Last time you told me in the Zong Group cafeteria that one of your drivers died—a child orphan—and you handed the body over to some organization for handling. You even saw one of them wearing Ke Wenjie’s Logistics Department uniform."
Mo Kai Liang's face was filled with panic.
Tong Le spoke up, "The police have already taken control of Ke Wenjie's Logistics Department. All the staff members are required to undergo an investigation. I want to ask you if you would be willing to come forward and help identify that person. If you can identify him, it will make things much easier moving forward. Ke Wenjie will undoubtedly face the death penalty, and the police will extract information about the Suit Man who led that day from others. At that point, it will only be a matter of time before Hua Rongxiao gets involved."
Mo Kai Liang shook his head firmly. "No way! You promised to keep this confidential. If I come forward and identify him, the police will know that I sold the body to that organization! My boss is dead; how am I supposed to explain this to the police?"
