Wu Youyou glared at Hou Yi's figure, feeling both angry and perplexed. How did he know that Dao Wen had told him about their late-night activities?
As Tong Le and Dao Wen exited the bar, Wu Youyou appeared listless. The three of them got into the car, with Dao Wen behind the wheel.
Dao Wen glanced at Wu Youyou in the back seat and asked curiously, "Did Hou Yi give you a hard time? You came here all cheerful, and now you look like you've lost your soul."
With a sigh, Wu Youyou rolled down the window, letting the night breeze in. "Why is it so hard to find a man I like?"
Tong Le in the passenger seat couldn't help but laugh. "Did Hou Yi provoke you again?"
At that moment, the car drove onto the Cross-Sea Bridge, with the vast ocean stretching below. As they traveled across the bridge, the night air was filled with a hint of saltiness.
Dao Wen slowed down and opened all the windows, signaling Tong Le to look outside. "Look over there, Tong Le."
Tong Le turned her gaze toward the sea surface, where a swarm of drones had suddenly appeared, forming shapes in the night sky. She saw her name and her likeness among them; the drones painted patterns across the deep black canvas like stars scattered in the sky.
Just then, fireworks erupted from both ends of the bridge.
Dao Wen parked the car in a safe area and gestured for Tong Le to get out.
Wu Youyou hurriedly followed behind Tong Le, exclaiming, "This is all thanks to Zong Zeyu! Do you know how long we’ve been preparing this with Zong Zeyu, Zong Jin, Jin Zi Meng, Jiang Zhichao, Tian Ling, Zhou Zishuo? We worked so hard! Look, Tong Le Jie! The fireworks even spell out your name!"
Tong Le looked up as clusters of fireworks exploded brilliantly above her. She watched as the flying drones formed a message: "Will you marry me?"
In the center of the sea below the bridge floated a cruise ship adorned with continuous fireworks. She faintly heard Zong Zeyu's voice calling from aboard the ship. "Tong Le! Will you marry me?"
At that moment, Dao Wen pointed at a drone flying toward them. "Tong Le, look!"
The drone hovered in front of Tong Le, carrying a small ring box underneath it.
Wu Youyou stepped forward to retrieve the box and opened it in front of Tong Le. The diamond sparkled brilliantly under the glow of the fireworks, radiating an unprecedented brilliance.
Tong Le slipped the ring onto her finger and waved excitedly at Zong Zeyu on the bridge. "I do!"
Onboard the ship, Zong Zeyu was as excited as a little boy. He looked up at Tong Le standing on the bridge, reminiscent of that day on the school playground years ago when he watched her give a speech from the podium. That year’s Tong Le had her hair tied up high in a ponytail, radiating confidence and brilliance—an image forever etched in his heart.
He would never forget what his father had told him back then: "Son, she is going to be your future wife."
That statement stayed with him for a lifetime.
Zong Jin stood beside Zong Zeyu, watching this lively scene with satisfaction. He called out to Dao Wen on the bridge, "Wife! Look behind you!"
On the bridge, Dao Wen turned around. She thought that tonight's celebration belonged solely to Tong Le and Zong Zeyu; but as she turned back for just a moment, she realized that this joy also included her share.
On the other side of the bridge, a fleet of drones lined up in the night sky, forming a perfect row. I will love you forever.
The night sky stretched endlessly, even the stars seemed dim in comparison. In a small corner of the Cross-Sea Bridge, Hou Yi quietly watched this lively confession. He felt happy for Tong Le, even though the one giving her all of this was not him.
He looked down at the Red Woven Bracelet on his wrist and gently spoke, "I love you too, but I wish you happiness."
The night breeze was soft, and the sea wind carried a deep sense of love, caressing the hearts of every lover.
No matter how tumultuous and deceitful this world may be, it is love that allows one to part the clouds and find their own lighthouse.
I will love you forever, more than you love me. (THE END)
