"Mom, don't you want to live for yourself just once?"
"Don't you love reading? Haven't you always wanted to travel?"

Mom brought me to Grandpa's old house.
It was completely empty.
Mom looked puzzled. "Yin Yin, why did you bring me here?"
I stared at the familiar door. "You'll find out soon."
Before long, the door swung open.
Dad stepped out, holding a woman in his arms.
The woman was dressed in designer clothes, her makeup flawlessly done.
Beside her was a little boy.
The child affectionately called out, "Goodbye, Dad!"
Mom froze.
Wasn't Dad supposed to be at the hospital?
How could he be here?
And who was that woman?
Mom stared in disbelief at the scene unfolding before her.
I leaned closer to her ear. "Mom, Dad has been cheating on you."
This was information I had stumbled upon in my previous life.
Unfortunately, I had already died by then.
Mom had no way of knowing the truth.
She would only believe that I was pushed down the stairs by the child of the mistress.
Not that I was harmed by my own husband.

Dad affectionately wrapped his arm around the woman's waist.
The little boy bounced over to him.
“Dad, when are you going to get rid of that Bad Woman and her daughter?”
Dad looked at him with a doting expression. “Soon.”
“When I trick some money out of them, we’ll kick them out.”
The woman pouted playfully, “So when are you going to marry me?”
Dad paused for a moment, “Just wait a bit longer.”
The woman complained, “We’ve been together for three years. Why won’t you marry me?”
Dad frowned, “What do you understand? My wife sold the house and made a fortune!”
“As long as I can get her money, we’ll have a good life!”
The woman’s eyes sparkled with mischief. “I heard that woman is into stocks. Can’t we get some money from that?”
Dad’s eyes lit up. “Great idea!”
They continued their disgusting conversation, completely oblivious to us across the street.
Mom's face was pale as she bit her lip hard.
She couldn’t believe that her usually caring and gentle husband was actually scum!
Dad kept rambling on with his vile words.
The little boy asked him, “Dad, who is that woman you’re talking about?”
Dad sneered, “That’s my Ex-Wife.”
The little boy frowned. “I don’t like her!”
“She’s mean and has yelled at me before.”
The woman chimed in, “Exactly! She doesn’t even treat you like a husband.”
“I’ve seen her yell at you several times.”
The father's expression darkened.
"Yes, that woman is nothing but a shrew."
"If it weren't for the fact that she's Yin Yin's mother, I would have kicked her out long ago!"
The little boy innocently asked, "Then why don't you divorce her, Dad?"
The father snorted coldly, "You wouldn't understand."
"That foolish woman has money; I intend to squeeze her dry!"
The woman said sweetly, "Brother Chu, you’re really impressive!"
The little boy looked at him with admiration, "Dad is amazing!"
The father beamed with pride.
The mother was barely able to stand.
She trembled all over.
Every word the father spoke pierced her heart!
Her heart felt like it was being sliced open.
She couldn't believe that the man she loved most was actually a scoundrel!
I hugged my mother tightly, feeling her pain.
"Mom, this is the husband you've always had."
Unable to hold back any longer, she stormed forward and slapped the father hard!
He was taken aback by the blow.
