At the same time, on the other side of the set. 0

"What are you looking at, Yiming?" Lu Man asked, her delicate features framed by an elegant ancient costume that made her appear noble and graceful. 0

When she smiled, there was an added allure that could captivate anyone. 0

Following Jiang Yiming's gaze, Lu Man spotted Xu Qing and Director Meng sitting under a tree, their small stools positioned closely together. 0

Meng Fan was almost leaning in to whisper something in Xu Qing's ear, their posture intimate. 0

"Those two look like children who can't bear to be apart," she remarked casually, though a hint of jealousy flickered in her eyes. 0

As soon as Lu Man finished speaking, she noticed that the usually silent Jiang Yiming had stood up, signaling his intention to head over there. 0

"You just explained things for your rival so easily. Let them stir things up for a few days; don't you think you grew up in a pigsty? You're so foolish." 0

After hearing that Xu Qing had explained Lu Man's scandal to Jiang Yiming, Meng Fan shot Xu Qing a steaming glare filled with disappointment. 0

"Then you must have been born a pig. Do you think Jiang Yiming is an idiot? He'll definitely believe Lu Man; he was just angry after seeing the news. My reputation has taken a hit because of this. I need to salvage some image. He even doubts my motives. So I used my exceptional acting skills to fool him. This morning, he even made me a fried egg, though it looked terrible..." 0

Xu Qing's incessant chatter was interrupted by Meng Fan's piercing gaze. Sensing something was off, she turned around and found the tall figure of Jiang Yiming standing behind her with his arms crossed. 0

His eyes seemed to bore into her, as if he could see right through her. Xu Qing instinctively shrank back, a wave of nervousness washing over her. 0

The crow cawed from the tree, seemingly mocking, as if to say, "Someone is about to have bad luck!" Xu Qing thought to herself, a hint of an awkward smile appearing on her face. 0

"Your acting is good, but your scheming is even better." 0

Jiang Yiming coldly mocked her, recalling how he had spent the entire night thinking about how to apologize to Xu Qing, unable to sleep. In the morning, he hurriedly fried an egg for her as an apology, only to find out she had played him, happily taking it to share with another man. Anger surged within him, his eyes filled with fury. 0

"I know, thank you for the compliment," Xu Qing replied humbly, her head lowered and a hint of helplessness in her voice. 0

"However, you’ve wasted your efforts. I, Jiang Yiming, have always loved only Lu Man. Marrying you is merely a temporary measure." 0

Jiang Yiming smiled with his lips but not with his eyes. "Once I persuade my father to agree to my relationship with Lu Man, our marriage will be null and void." 0

"Oh," Xu Qing nodded lightly, indicating she understood. A trace of desolation flashed in her eyes. 0

Her attitude made Jiang Yiming feel as though he had struck a heavy blow against cotton; his anger had nowhere to go. Unable to contain himself, he shouted at Xu Qing, "What I mean is that you should stop dreaming! I could never like you; even if there were a hundred of you, you wouldn’t compare to a single hair of Lu Man's." 0

"Oh," Xu Qing continued to keep her head down, responding dully as if his words were just a breeze passing by her ears. 0

But when Jiang Yiming looked closely, he noticed her shoulders were trembling slightly. 0

"Could it be that you're crying?" Jiang Yiming frowned and forcefully lifted her chin. To his surprise, Xu Qing was holding back laughter so hard that tears were almost spilling from her eyes. Upon seeing his face, she burst into laughter. 0

"What are you laughing at?" Jiang Yiming's brows knitted tighter, wearing an expression that warned her he would hit her if she laughed again, confusion evident in his gaze. 0

Xu Qing's expression turned serious as she followed suit, adopting a stern face. Then, in an utterly earnest tone, she said, "Jiang Yiming, your zipper is not done up properly." 0
