Xu Qing's hand landed on Lu Man's shoulder, and in an instant, she exerted force.
However, at the moment Lu Man's body began to plummet towards the cliff, Xu Qing noticed that the harness hook hidden beneath Lu Man's clothing slipped to one side, compromising the safety of the harness by half.
If she fell like this, she would undoubtedly lose her balance and crash against the mountain.
There was no time for Xu Qing to think further; one thought raced through her mind...
The crew gasped in shock. While Lu Man's fall was part of the script, why did Xu Qing follow her down? Only Meng Fan shouted decisively, "Quick! Go check! Where's the technician? Hurry!"
For safety reasons, Xu Qing was also harnessed up. She jumped with greater speed, resulting in a faster descent.
The steel cable swayed as Lu Man tilted her body, losing balance. It seemed she had collided with something, and she let out a muffled groan.
Xu Qing immediately grabbed her shoulder and held her in her arms, her heart racing with anxiety. The instinctive motion caused her body to sway under the weight of Lu Man, and before she could react, the left side of her body slammed against the mountainside, leaving her left ear ringing.
Fortunately, both of them managed to steady themselves, swaying in the air.
Voices calling their names echoed from above, fluctuating as if coming from a distance.
All Xu Qing could see was the lush green of the mountains. In a daze, she wondered if she had become a hero who saved the damsel in distress. Once her deeds were known, would she gain more fans? Well, even just one would be enough—Jiang Yiming would do.
At that moment, a sports car sped toward the foot of the mountain. With a screeching halt, it came to a stop.
The car door swung open abruptly, and Jiang Yiming stepped out with long strides, quickly making his way down. He anxiously gazed toward the cliff, worry evident in his eyes.
Meanwhile, Xu Qing and Lu Man were safely rescued.
Xu Qing sat on the ground, her face pale and beads of sweat forming on her forehead. Lu Man stood beside her, gratitude shining in her eyes as she softly said, "Thank you, Xu Qing."
Xu Qing forced a smile and was about to respond when she saw Jiang Yiming running toward them. He reached Xu Qing and examined her from head to toe, concern flooding his gaze as he asked, "Are you okay?"
Looking at Jiang Yiming stirred a complex mix of emotions within Xu Qing—gratitude intertwined with a hint of grievance. She shook her head slightly and replied, "I'm fine."
Jiang Yiming let out a sigh of relief and extended his hand to help Xu Qing up. After a moment's hesitation, she finally took his hand. With a gentle pull, he helped her to her feet.
At that moment, Meng Fan also rushed over and looked at Xu Qing and Jiang Yiming with a smile of relief on his face.
He patted Jiang Yiming on the shoulder and said, "Alright, as long as you're okay."
Jiang Yiming nodded and then turned to Lu Man, asking, "Are you alright too?"
Lu Man nodded and replied, "I'm fine, thank you, Yiming."
Jiang Yiming gave a slight nod before turning to Xu Qing and said, "Let's go, I'll take you home."
Xu Qing glanced at Jiang Yiming and then at the people around them before finally nodding.
Jiang Yiming took Xu Qing's hand and walked toward the sports car.
Xu Qing looked back at Lu Man and Meng Fan, a wave of complex emotions surging within her. She didn't know what the future held for her and Jiang Yiming, but she hoped that this time, there would be a change between them.
