Boom— 0

My mind went blank in an instant, as if struck by a thunderbolt. The sound of rain, the wind, everything around me seemed to vanish. All I could hear was the pounding of my heart and his clear confession. 0

He likes… me? Shen Yizhou likes me? 0

I stared at him, my mouth slightly agape, unable to produce any sound. 0

He seemed to notice my shock and confusion, a gentle yet helpless smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “Did I scare you?” 0

I instinctively shook my head, then nodded. 0

He chuckled softly, reaching out to gently wipe away the raindrops that had splashed onto my cheek without me noticing. “I know it might not be the best time to say this, but I don’t want you to be troubled or shaken by these pointless things anymore.” 0

“I…” I finally found my voice, though it trembled with uncertainty. “Senior, you… you’re not joking, are you?” 0

“Do I look like I’m joking?” he countered, his gaze serious beyond measure. 0

The rain continued to fall, but inside me, it felt as if a warm ray of sunlight had suddenly broken through. All my previous anxieties, doubts, and disappointments were washed away by his simple and direct confession. 0

It turned out I wasn’t being overly sentimental. He really felt differently about me. 0

“Then… why were you…” I couldn’t help but ask, “so distant before?” 0

“Maybe because…” he paused for a moment, his gaze drifting slightly as if he felt a bit uneasy. “I’m not very good at interacting with girls. And at first… I just thought you were a bit reckless and… cute.” 0

Cute?! Did I hear that right? The ice-cold Academic Genius actually described me as “cute”? My cheeks felt as hot as fire. 0

“So…” he looked at me with a hint of barely perceptible anticipation in his eyes. “What’s your answer?” 0

I gazed at his handsome face so close to mine, seeing the seriousness and tenderness in his eyes, feeling the peaceful world he had created for me. My heart had already fallen unknowingly. 0

I took a deep breath, nodded vigorously, my voice trembling with excitement. “Yes!” 0

A simple syllable, yet it felt as heavy as a thousand pounds. 0

Shen Yizhou’s eyes instantly lit up like the brightest star in the night sky. A radiant smile spread across his face—one I had never seen before—as he gently pulled me into his embrace. 0

His arms were warm and strong, carrying the faint scent of laundry detergent mixed with the dampness of rain. Leaning against his solid chest, listening to the rhythm of his heartbeat, the entire world felt surreal. 0

The rain continued to patter down softly, washing every corner of the campus. Yet within this noisy curtain of rain, our world—me and Shen Yizhou—was left with just each other. 0

“Alright, you should head up now; don’t really catch a cold,” he said after a while, releasing me and smoothing down my hair that had been tousled by the wind. 0

“Okay.” My face flushed and my heart raced as I nodded, taking the umbrella he had thrust into my hands. “You… be careful on your way.” 0

"I understand," he said with a smile, gently ruffling my hair in a natural and affectionate manner. 0

I turned and ran into the dormitory building, feeling as if my footsteps were floating. When I reached the corner of the stairs, I couldn't help but look back one last time. He was still standing in the rain, holding that large black umbrella, quietly watching my direction until I disappeared into the hallway. 0

That night, I held Shen Yizhou's umbrella and couldn't sleep. The scene of his confession replayed in my mind over and over, along with that warm embrace. My heart felt as if it were filled with honey, sweet to the point of being overwhelming. 0

So this is what it feels like to like someone and receive a confession. It was like walking on clouds, as if I had the whole world in my hands. 0
