Taniyama apparently turned a deaf ear to Shinichi's words and suddenly punched Shinichi in the face.
"You actually went for it!" Shinichi frowned and rubbed his face where he was hit.
"What's wrong? Not going to fight back?" Taniyama taunted.
Shinichi couldn't help but think as he dodged, "This guy has always given off an extreme vibe, but I didn't expect him to be so rough and hot-blooded."
"Ah!" Shinichi was suddenly struck again, causing his face to contort involuntarily.
"Oh no, I just got Right to sleep peacefully, and now this will definitely wake it up," Shinichi thought helplessly.
Shinichi used his left hand to block Tanizawa's continuous punches forcefully.
"Do you look down on me? Do you think you can deal with me using just one hand?" Tanizawa roared.
"No, can we calm down and talk?" Shinichi tried to persuade him.
However, Taniyama completely ignored him, grabbing Shinichi's collar and then forcefully kicking Shinichi in the abdomen with his right foot.
Shinichi felt a sharp pain and blood oozed from the corner of his mouth. "This is bad, that kick must have woken up 'Right'!"
"You coward!" Taniyama raised his fist again, about to strike Shinichi.
"Stop!" Shinichi shouted.
The next moment, Taniyama was swiftly struck by an invisible force and then fell heavily to the ground.
The speed was so fast that only Shinichi understood what had happened. He looked at his Right hand, which had just knocked down Taniyama with a punch.
"You really have no sense of measure, idiot!" Shinichi scolded, feeling a bit annoyed.
"Fool?" Righthe responded at this moment.
"This word should be used to describe someone even dumber than you. You're using it incorrectly!" Righthe retorted, looking at him with two eyes.
"What did you say?" Shinichi asked suspiciously.
Although this was not the first time Right had made a surprising statement, each time it made him feel that this parasite had a completely different way of thinking and seeing things from himself. It seemed like he couldn't say that it was wrong, which made him feel frustrated every time he thought about it, but he couldn't do anything about it.
Does a parasite have a different personality with different hosts?
Shinichi feels that his parasite Right seems to be naturally opposed to him, as if he gained an annoying little brother.
"Are you really not going to hurt him?" Shinichi asked anxiously.
"Don't worry, I didn't use full force," Right replied.
"But you should still go check on his chin, it might be broken," Right added.
"You can't be serious, can you?" Shinichi was somewhat incredulous.
Shinichi walked over to Taniyama and gently checked on his condition. In the light, Taniyama's complexion gradually changed from gray to red, as if he were regaining consciousness.
"Ah... Izumi Shinichi." Taniyama slowly opened his eyes, a hint of pain on his lips.
"It looks like you're okay," Shinichi said, relieved.
"Ah!" Upon seeing Shinichi, Taniyama immediately took a few steps back, with a frightened expression on his face.
"Taniyama, what's wrong with you?" Shinichi asked with concern.
"I, I understand. I lost," Taniyama gritted his teeth and finally stood up. After speaking, he quickly turned around and disappeared into the dim corridor.
"What's going on? How did he suddenly become so afraid? Did he see you, Right?" Shinichi looked in the direction where Taniyama disappeared, puzzled.
"That shouldn't be possible. I think that guy is just particularly afraid of pain," Right replied nonchalantly.
Before long, Rimi came back.
"Shinichi, the bread I bought is here," Rimi said, holding a bag with a hint of curiosity in her tone. "What happened just now? Why did Righty end up like this?"
"Oh, that? It was just a little trouble, but it's been resolved," Shinichi said with a slight smile.
"Thank you, Rimi," Shinichi took the bread and water handed to him by Rimi, opened one of the bread, and took a big bite.
Rimi sat next to him, placed the purchased drinks on the ground, and said happily, "You did really well today, but are you okay? You look a little tired."
Shinichi swallowed the bread in his mouth and smiled as he replied, "It's nothing, just a little incident earlier."
"What's the little episode about?" Rimi asked curiously.
Shinichi smiled and evaded the question, "It's not important, everything has been resolved anyway."
Rimi looked at Shinichi and seemed to sense that there was something Shinichi didn't want to talk about. She decided not to ask further and instead said, "You go ahead and eat first. You look like you must be very hungry."
Shinichi nodded with a smile and continued to enjoy his bread and water.
Despite the recent incident that left him feeling somewhat displeased, having Rimi by his side made him feel much more at ease.
Rimi picked up her drink, smiled slightly, and thought to herself, "I wonder if Shinichi's parasite by his side has lent a hand today. But no matter what, Shinichi is the main character, so he's got that protagonist aura!"
"Is it too dry? Do you want to have some of my drink?" Rimi suddenly asked.
"Sure, thanks," Shinichi took the drink and took a sip.
The two of them sat on the edge of the sports field, enjoying a brief moment of tranquility.
Shinichi quietly said to Right: "Well, it seems I still have a lot to learn about how to get along with you."
"What did you say?" Right responded.
"Ah, it's nothing, I just think you're pretty smart." Shinichi replied softly.
"Of course," I responded without hesitation in my heart.
The atmosphere at the Izumi household on the weekend is leisurely and peaceful, with the afternoon sunlight shining through the windows, filling the room with warm light.
"I'm home," Shinichi pushes open the door, takes off his shoes, and puts them in the shoe cabinet.
"Oh, Shinichi is back. Huh? You're back from the library so soon?" Nobuko peeked out from the kitchen, holding a vegetable peeler and a carrot in her hand.
"Yeah, hehe," Shinichi responded with a smile, holding three thick books in his hand.
"You've been working hard lately," Nobuko nodded in satisfaction and then returned to the kitchen to continue preparing dinner.
Shinichi took the book upstairs, entered his room, and closed the door. He placed the book on the desk and sighed, "Phew... These books aren't actually what I want to read."
At that moment, his right hand suddenly moved, running to the desk, picking up a pencil and notebook, and starting to flip through books to take notes.
"You're really hardworking," Shinichi leaned against the head of the bed, watching the busy movements of his right hand.
Right did not respond, just focused on flipping through the book, occasionally stopping to think, and then continuing to write.
Shinichi suddenly sat up straight, his tone becoming serious: "Since you are working so hard, why not help me prepare for the college entrance exam? That way, I'm sure to score high on the test."
Right stopped his hand, put down the pencil, and turned to look at Shinichi: "Preparing for the university entrance exam? Those are just knowledge that needs to be memorized. What I need to learn is knowledge that helps with survival and self-improvement."
Shinichi sighed and lay back on the bed: "I knew you would say that."
In the living room of the Izumi family, Kazuyuki sits on the sofa, holding a remote control, and gazes through his glasses at the television. His wife, Shikibu, stands by the kitchen sink, wiping the dinner plates clean.
"Shinichi, it's time to eat!" Nobuko's voice cuts through the heavy air, clearly reaching the upstairs room.
"Oh, coming," Shinichi's response came from upstairs, his voice sounding hesitant.
Shinichi walked to the door, his hand pausing on the doorknob. He looked down at the desk and noticed his right hand, also known as "Right," busy flipping through a biology textbook.
"Hey, it's time to eat!" Shinichi frowned and said discontentedly.
"Right" seemed to have heard, but only briefly looked up at him, then continued to work hard with his head down. "Hmm," was its only response.
Shinichi sighed impatiently, "Do you have to work so hard? It's ridiculous." He couldn't help but reach over and forcefully pull "Right" off the desk. Instantly, "Right" returned to its normal right-handed appearance.
Walking downstairs, Shinichi saw his parents already sitting at the dining table, ready to eat. Izumi Kazuyuki held a newspaper, while Izumi Shikibu carried an empty bowl towards the kitchen.
Shinichi couldn't help but wonder, if one day "Right" completely took control of his body, wouldn't his parents be the first target of "Right"?
The sound of the TV in the living room gradually grew louder as Izumi Kazuyuki placed the remote control on the coffee table and focused on watching the evening news.
"The number of bodies eaten by parasites is constantly increasing, with a total of eighty-four cases reported so far, all of which have occurred in just five short months..." The news anchor's voice made the whole room feel oppressive.
"Eighty-four people already? In just five months, that many?" Ichi furrowed his brow, placing his coffee cup back on the table.
Nobuko stopped what she was doing when she heard this, "Now... even if we hear about a new case, I won't be surprised anymore," she said with a hint of resignation.
Shinichi felt even heavier after hearing this. He tightly gripped the chopsticks in his hand, feeling uneasy. "Right" seemed to sense his unease and quietly said to himself, "Don't worry too much, we will find a solution."
"Mom, I'm full. I'm going upstairs to do my homework first." Shinichi got up, trying to shift his attention to something else.
"Okay, make sure you finish your homework." Nobuko responded with a smile.
After finishing his meal, Shinichi walked back to his room and pushed open the door to find the books on his desk neatly arranged. His right hand had returned to its original form, and he wasted no time in sitting back at the desk, burying himself in the books once again.
"Can't you take a little break?" Shinichi frowned, looking somewhat helpless.
「Right」slowly raised his head and looked at him with his almost transparent eyes, then said slowly, "Learning knows no bounds." His voice was calm, and he focused back on the books.
Shinichi walked to a corner of the room, leaned against the wall, and took a deep breath. "When the initial news about the dismemberment murders appeared, everyone said it might be the work of a wild animal or a psychopathic killer. But as the cases multiplied and occurred all over the world, with no perpetrator caught, people are now starting to say it might be the work of some evil organized crime group." He felt a heavy weight on his chest.
"I think, perhaps only Mi and I truly know the truth behind all of this in the world," Shinichi thought to himself, his gaze becoming distant.
He sighed, walked to the window, and gently pushed it open. A cool evening breeze blew in, bringing a temporary sense of peace.
"I'm starting to get tired of all this," Shinichi sighed softly, furrowing his brow.
"Right," suddenly stopping her hand holding the pen, she turned her head slightly towards him, "Shinichi, what is making you tired?"
Shinichi took a deep breath and slowly turned around, "It's nothing, don't worry about it."
Right said nothing and continued to bury itself in the knowledge of the book.
