I suddenly opened my eyes and found myself lying on a soft, large bed. Sunlight streamed through the half-drawn curtains, casting a warm glow on my face. Confused, I looked around; this luxurious bedroom felt both familiar and strange.
Suddenly, a wave of unfamiliar memories surged into my mind. I, Lin Starlight, had somehow transmigrated into a novel! And not just any novel, but one set in the entertainment industry where I had become an Evil Female Supporting Role.
"Oh my god, what is this nonsense?" I couldn't help but curse, rubbing my temples. The original owner's memories flashed before me like a movie, causing me to frown in disbelief.
In her quest for power, the original owner had resorted to unscrupulous means to cling to the male lead, Shen Yichen, leveraging his fame and resources. Unfortunately, she failed to appreciate what she had and ended up burning herself out, becoming the target of Internet Hate.
I sighed and got up to stand in front of the full-length mirror. The girl staring back at me had exquisite features and a stunning figure—she was undeniably beautiful. Yet the original owner had squandered this gift, choosing to rely on cunning schemes instead of making the most of her appearance, ultimately leading to her disgrace.
"Well then, since I'm here, I might as well make the best of it," I said to my reflection with a raised eyebrow. "From today onward, I will take my acting career seriously and work hard to improve my skills."
Just then, my phone rang. I picked it up and saw that it was my manager, Lisa.
"Hello, Lisa," I answered the call with a calm tone.
"Lin Starlight! You finally answered!" Lisa's voice was filled with exasperation and complaint. "Do you have any idea how much people are tearing you apart online? Those haters want to rip you to shreds! We need to come up with a plan!"
Taking a deep breath, I replied patiently, "Lisa, don't worry. I know things are bad right now, but I've decided to change. I'm going to take my acting career seriously and work hard on my skills. Please give me another chance."
There was silence on the other end for a few seconds before Lisa's tone softened noticeably. "Really? You're not joking?"
"I promise, this time I'm serious," I said earnestly.
After hanging up the phone, I immediately sprang into action. I took out a script I had received earlier and began to read it carefully. It was a story about a girl struggling against adversity, filled with rich emotional changes in the characters.
As I read the script, I pondered the character's psychology. Suddenly, I felt a strange power surging within me. I closed my eyes and concentrated, only to discover that I had acquired an incredible ability—Emotion Amplifier.
This ability allowed me to delve deeper into understanding and portraying the character's emotions. When I tried to use this power, I instantly felt the character's joys, sorrows, anger, and happiness. The sensation was so real that it was as if I were the girl in the script.
However, I soon realized that overusing this ability drained a significant amount of energy. After using it, I felt a wave of fatigue wash over me, and a dull headache began to form.
"It seems that this Emotion Amplifier shouldn't be used carelessly; I need to be cautious," I reminded myself.
In the following days, I devoted myself wholeheartedly to learning acting. I reached out to a renowned acting teacher, hoping for professional guidance.
"Miss Lin, do you really want to learn acting seriously?" the teacher asked over the phone, her tone laced with skepticism.
"Yes, I'm aware that my previous image wasn't great, but I genuinely want to start anew," I replied earnestly. "I hope to become a true actress, not just a pretty face famous for hype."
The teacher was moved by my sincerity and agreed to my request. From that day on, I embarked on rigorous training. I woke up early and went to bed late, constantly practicing lines, physicality, and expression management. I also frequently used the Emotion Amplifier to help me better understand the characters, even though each use left me utterly exhausted.
During this process, I began to reflect on my life. Although I had crossed over into the role of an Evil Female Supporting Role, I did not want to repeat the mistakes of the original character. I aimed to live out an extraordinary self in this world and prove my worth through my abilities.
"I must succeed," I said to my reflection in the mirror, my gaze resolute. "Not for others, but for myself."
Thus began my journey in showbiz. Though the road ahead was arduous, I believed that as long as I persevered, there would come a day of reward. After all, in this world, there were still many stories for me to write.
