On the day of our graduation, I stood hand in hand with Qin Feng at the school gate, gazing at the familiar campus, my heart filled with mixed emotions. Four years of university life had passed in the blink of an eye, and it was about to come to an end. We were about to step into society and embark on a brand new journey in life.
"Zhao Yue, are you scared?" Qin Feng asked softly, a hint of unease in his eyes.
I shook my head and offered a determined smile. "With you by my side, I'm not afraid of anything."
Qin Feng tightened his grip on my hand, a glimmer of emotion flashing in his eyes. "Let's work hard together."
After graduation, we were both fortunate to find our ideal jobs. Although the salaries weren't high, they were quite decent for recent graduates like us. I worked as a copywriter at an advertising company, while Qin Feng joined an IT company as a programmer.
When we first arrived in this unfamiliar city, we both felt a bit lost and uneasy. But with each other's company, all the difficulties seemed less daunting. We explored the city together, searched for an apartment together, and learned to live independently.
I remember one time when we both worked late into the night. On our way home, it started pouring rain, and without an umbrella, we had to take shelter under a roof. Without a second thought, Qin Feng took off his jacket and draped it over my shoulders while he got soaked like a drowned rat.
"You silly fool!" I said, feeling a pang of concern as my eyes began to well up.
But Qin Feng just smiled and said, "As long as you don't get wet, that's all that matters."
In that moment, I felt his deep love for me, warming my heart.
Work wasn't always smooth sailing. Sometimes we encountered difficult clients or faced challenging projects. Whenever I felt discouraged, Qin Feng would silently stay by my side, giving me strength. And when he worked late into the night, I would prepare hot snacks for him.
We supported each other and grew together. Gradually, we both achieved some success in our respective fields. I remember the excitement of completing my first major project independently; I was almost ready to jump for joy. When I got home, Qin Feng had already prepared a celebratory dinner and wine.
"Congratulations, my little genius!" He raised his glass, pride shining in his eyes.
We clinked our glasses, savoring the joy of victory. In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of happiness. To have someone who rejoices in every one of your achievements is a wonderful feeling.
As our work gradually stabilized, we decided to rent a small apartment together and start living together. On moving day, we were busy and sweating, but the smiles on our faces never faded.
"We finally have our own home," I said contentedly as I lay back on the sofa after unpacking our things.
Qin Feng sat down beside me and gently wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Home isn't about size; wherever you are is home."
From that day on, our life became even sweeter. Though it was simple, it was filled with happiness. We cooked together, sometimes failing miserably, but we always managed to start over amidst laughter. We cleaned our little apartment, organizing it neatly. We decorated our home together, with each small item carrying our memories.
Sometimes, I would think back to the gloomy and reclusive Qin Feng from university. Looking at who he is now fills me with immense comfort. He no longer shuts himself away; instead, he has learned to express love and interact with others. Seeing his smile, I know we have both grown in this relationship.
On the night of our one-year anniversary of living together, Qin Feng mysteriously took me to the restaurant where we had our first date. Candlelit dinner, romantic music—everything was so beautiful.
After finishing our meal, Qin Feng suddenly knelt on one knee and pulled a small box from his pocket.
"Zhao Yue, over the years, you have helped me rediscover hope in life and understand the true meaning of love. Will you marry me?"
I gasped and covered my mouth in surprise, tears welling in my eyes. I had never imagined that the shy boy from back then would propose to me in such a romantic way.
"I do!" I nodded through my tears, extending my hand for him to place the ring on my finger.
At that moment, I knew I would be with him forever.
Our wedding was warm and intimate. Though it wasn't a lavish affair, we invited all our friends and family to witness our happiness. As I walked slowly toward Qin Feng in my pure white wedding dress, accompanied by my father, I saw tears glistening in his eyes.
"Thank you, Zhao Yue," Qin Feng said, holding my hand tightly with deep affection. "You have given me hope for life again; you have shown me the true meaning of love. I will spend my life loving and cherishing you."
I gazed back at him with equal tenderness and replied, "I also want to thank you, Qin Feng. You have taught me what true love is and given me the most beautiful memories. We will be together forever, through thick and thin."
Amidst the blessings from everyone around us, we embraced tightly. In that moment, I felt an unprecedented sense of happiness and fulfillment. I knew our story was just beginning, and there were more beautiful moments waiting for us in the future.
Looking back on our past, we had been through so much together. From our initial misunderstandings to falling in love, from campus life to the workplace, we had walked hand in hand through every stage of life. In this journey, we healed each other and grew together.
Now, we were finally ready to start a new chapter in our lives. I knew there would be many challenges ahead, but as long as we were together, there was nothing to fear.
As I looked at Qin Feng beside me, my heart was filled with gratitude and love. Thank you, my dearest one; thank you for making me a better person; thank you for giving me a complete life.
Our story will never end. Because we will always be together until the end of time.
