A Xiao nodded vigorously while keeping an eye on Erlang Shen to prevent him from snatching the red thread from her. "If you keep this up, you can forget about eating carrots in the future!"
Under A Xiao's threats and temptations, Erlang Shen finally quieted down, sulking in a corner as he drew circles on the ground. A Xiao sighed helplessly and headed towards the Moon Palace, carrying the carrot snacks she had painstakingly made for him.
"Is this... for me?" A Xiao handed the food box to the Jade Rabbit standing under the osmanthus tree, only to find a complex expression on his face. Confused, he scratched his head. "Don't you like them?"
Shouldn't rabbits love carrots? She had secretly prepared these for him to express her gratitude for his patient teaching of spells over the past few days, all while keeping it from Erlang Shen.
The Jade Rabbit returned to his cool demeanor and handed the food box back. "Take these back for... Erlang Shen to eat."
A Xiao was immediately taken aback. Had Erlang Shen's fondness for carrots already spread throughout the heavenly realm?
He turned around and gestured in the air with both hands. "Did you manage to learn the transformation spell I taught you last time?"
A Xiao chuckled awkwardly. "Well, I might have learned a little bit." After all, she was merely occupying Xiao Tian Quan's body and knew nothing about celestial spells in the heavenly realm; even though she possessed celestial energy within her, she couldn't use it.
Jade Rabbit understood clearly: "As the battle pet of Erlang Shen, even if you were severely injured before and your thousand years of cultivation were nearly destroyed, you should not give up on yourself. You need to pick yourself up again."
A Xiao learned that before she occupied this body, Xiao Tian Quan, despite having abundant celestial energy, had never been able to take human form. Later, during an outing with Erlang Shen, they were attacked by the Demon Prince, and she nearly lost her life while protecting her master. "Queen Mother, this is a misunderstanding." To prove her innocence, she even presented a certificate she had specially obtained from Bao Sheng Da Di. "See? I really am not pregnant!"
To her surprise, the Queen Mother didn't even glance at it and looked at A Xiao with an extremely sympathetic gaze. "Erlang Shen is truly being ridiculous."
A Xiao was taken aback; what did this have to do with him?
The Queen Mother sighed. "No matter what, he shouldn't force you to get rid of Jade Rabbit's child. Poor Xiao Tian Quan; I shall take it upon myself to arrange a marriage for you both."
"Get rid of the child? Arrange a marriage?" A Xiao felt as if a bolt of lightning had struck her, leaving her stunned.
"This is also a misunderstanding..." A Xiao chuckled awkwardly, certain that some gossiping immortals had overheard Erlang Shen's nonsensical ramblings that day and embellished the story before it reached the Queen Mother's ears.
The Queen Mother naturally took A Xiao's expression as one of overwhelming excitement and chuckled, saying, "You don't need to thank me too much. Just work hard and give me a little puppy or a bunny to be my celestial pet."
A Xiao twitched her lips, opening her mouth to explain, but the Queen Mother cut her off without a second thought, "I'm tired. It's settled then."
